What is the most miles you've gotten on 1 tank in your xB?
343 miles on 10,36 gallons. That's my best tank so far-- I think I could do better. I try not to go too far after the light comes on, though I could probably drive to work for three days after that, if I really wanted to push my luck.

Anyway
The one time I ran my tank to "near empty" (we all have a different definition of "near empty") I drove 370.7 miles and had to put 9.553 gallons.

^^^Exactly right. Mpg over several fill ups are the best way. If people want to know how far they are going on a tank just do the math using how much the tank will hold. Not running the tank empty and overheating the fuel pump.
I rarely alow mine to go to 1/4 mark.

I generally try to fill up before my light comes on, but must admit that recently I have been putting off getting fuel until the light does come on. Never would I run the needle down to the last dash on the gauge.
I have tracked my MPG since new. Every fillup except 3 have been accounted for since I bought new in 10/06. When filling out my log I also have space for notes (remove snorkel, replace spark plugs, long waits in traffic, increase tire pressure, etc.) just so I can be as accurate as possible and find out what does and does not increase mileage for me.

At least I have money now, I was waiting for my next paycheck!
bit of a hijack but you know what I find funny? How consistently it's 34mpg. Unless you put 3 people in it and roof rack at 75mpg it's, like, always 34mpg.
Air on/off. Various speeds. Highway / city. 34.
within reason.

sorryi dont have an exact figure but...
last summer, i filled up in portsmouth new hampshire. i drove down to new york (262 miles) with 3 people in the car and the AC blasting most of the way. when i got to ny, i left the car for my parents to use.
my mom drove it to and from work (approx 14 miles round trip) for about 7 days until she filled it up again.
my approximation was about 330-360 miles for that tank. i give a big range because there are diff routes to get to her job, some shorter, some longer.
needless to say, i love this car. ;]

434 on 10.2 gallons. 80 mile daily roundtrip,97% flat expressway driving, coasting to stops, timing stop lights, cruise on 55. Yeah I know, 55 ON THE HIGHWAY!?!? But the speeds signs in MS, do say "Speed Limit 70, Minimum Speed 40", so I figure halfway. Tried 50 for one week ... OMG dont do that!!!
Surprisingly with gas prices going up, a lot less peolpe are blowing by (even the truckers have slowed down) and more and morre people are choosing to just stay behind me now not wanting to waste the gas in passing just to then get off at the next exit. Oh where is the 70's speed limit of 55? Have not heard much about that this time around. To paraphrase Top Gun... I dont feel the need for speed.
Remember the limit is 70, which means legally you cant exceed 70 even when passing, which implies that you will be slower than 70 in the right lane anyway, so relax, have a pop-tart in the toaster and enjoy the ride
O.K. Let the hating begin and no I do not recommend this style for everyone, everywhere and I do still keep my eye on the rearview mirror just in case.

My car is slightly over 32,000 miles and I just got a fill-1/2 highway and 1/2 city and I got 37+MPG-I was so amazed I checked it like 3 times-always over 37-before this it would hover at 31+ a little-crazy!
535 miles i believe was my best tank, my commute is similar to thkgrn, im at 50,000 miles and my fuel pump is fine. Driving slower on the highway is a little more user friendly today than it was when I got the 535 mpt, my best tank lately was 480 miles, but it takes alot of concentration and patience to get good miles, but it can be done.
