Default What is my xb worth?

Hi guys, selling my xb and curious as to what to ask for it.

2005 scion xb, auto, black.
215000 miles on body, 90k on the motor.
(I didn't blow up the motor acting stupid, an armadillo killed my cold air intake, and it ingested water on the interstate. Lower main bearing failed.) insurance paid for a used motor with 20k that compression tested with only 1-3 psi variance between cylinders. Damned good motor.

The good:
Just did the brakes. New slotted discs.
HIDs in stock smoked lamps.
Volant intake box.
Synthetic oil changes every 5-6k.
Trans fluid and filter swapped to mobil1 synthetic.
Just changed in cabin blower.
Kicker 800.4 amp
MbQuart components
Headliner dyed black to match seats
I have a new set of led lamps to replace every bulb on the car
Rear wiper delete
Newer tires, 10k on a 60k tire.
Optima redtop

The bad:
Missing front grill that has the emblem. (pulled it for better mpg on a trip in October to NYC, and of course lost it)
Small dent in rear door the size of a a dime... No idea how it got there.
AC fan control **** needs more dielectric grease, only works on 1&2 then doesn't connect well. Obviously I can fix this.
Drivers side airbag sensor under seat got bumped with my tire iron, everything will work fine in an accident, but there is an annoying red light on the dash demanding that you replace the 20$ sensor.
The belts are getting old enough to where there is mild squeak at startup, once again, I can fix it obviously, just don't really use it a lot since I'm back in school.
Ghetto magnaflow exhaust, looks wierd, sounds incredible. Throaty rather than pipey.

The car runs like a top. Perfectly. I would drive it right now 2000 miles with nothing but a tire tool. It's been to Miami, NYC, Seattle, and everywhere in between. Not once has it ever even hesitated to start and run perfectly.

Mpg is great with the grill removed... Not sure why.

I just don't know what to ask for it...

NADA is better any day of the week. Unfortunately, it's rarely indicative of the "street" value of a niche vehicle.

Judging by the average pricing of scion xBs nationally, they are sold for significantly above the stated value.

Thanks for being worthless.

Why you're right, a forum couldn't possibly be a place for the exchanging of opinions.

If you don't have one pertaining to the original post, wouldn't it make more sense to reign in the fingers? Perhaps return them to your little sister.

Here's my input:

That 215,000 mile marker is going to kill your value dramatically. No one wants to buy a car with over a 100,000 miles, but they do either because they're low on funds or they're looking for a beater car and don't care.

Also, you're missing a grille and you have a dent in the door. Then you have a red light on your dash that doesn't go away unless you replace a sensor. This creates the mindset of the buyer that you, the owner, does not take care of your car. Also, informing the buyer that you have had an engine replaced is a scary thought. And if I'm the buyer, then I start thinking what else could be wrong with your xB that you're not telling me.

IMO, you're not going to fetch much for the car. I went ahead and just pulled up a Kelly Blue Book value on your car for your rough zip code for Baton Rouge, and they say in Fair condition, your car would fetch $4,400.
http://www.kbb.com/scion/xb/2005-scion-xb/sport-wagon-4d/?vehicleid=1572&intent=trade-in-sell&mileage=215000&r=832921897104804100&options=60703|true&pricetype=private-party&isnotabs=true

To be honest, there's no way in hell I'd ever pay $4,000 for a car that has over 200,000 miles. I would laugh and walk away because I know you can spend half that and get a car under 100,000. And it'd be a V6 or higher and not an xB.

If I were you, start high with $4,000 and see if anyone gives you an offer. You might also want to part out any mods you have, because you'll never return anything with them installed. Unless the buyer is ignorant and easily manipulated.

Thanks, pretty much what I was expecting.

Which is sad given that mechanically it's perfect. Oh well, gonna keep it til it dies then. Judging by how tight everything is, my unborn children might be driving this thing.

Might put a little hitch on it and make it a yard vehicle, pull a lawn trailer, could be interesting.

Its tempting to gut it and steal pieces for my new hobby car. I do like the xb seats and switches.

Round..you come across as someone with issues..you ask a question of the fellow posters..and then after you dont like the answer you attack the person who first came to offer advice

it's more than obvious that you seem to know how much your B is worth..why are you even asking here?

with that many miles on your ride..I would not be interested at all...as most people wouldnt be...grow up

New engine and some modified parts with high mileage. I'd say around 5k. The modifications lower the value of the vehicle because you've narrowed your buyers to a very specific group.
