Ok I am, going to answer this.. First things first you can't disregard the HUGE body of work that shows a true synthetic is far superior. Second when using something ;like With Amsoil which is the best you can do extended drain intervals and which makes the cost about the same FYI.

In someone with my situation I do 2,500-3,000 miles per month it all makes sense. Other wise I would change oil every month
Oils I recommend...Redline, Amsoil Royal Purple, German Castrol....Mobil 1 has gone away from true synthetics

 

^^^Alot of our customers use synthetics and synthetic blends and MOST of them go a very long time between oil changes! That's fine but when it goes too long, that becomes a problem. Why?

Oil eventually breaks down, so what happens? No lubrication for the vital internals of an engine. We've replaced plenty of engines cause customers use these "great and superior" oils and forget when they have to change their oil. We get plenty of cars where the engines burn oil! Synthetics are especially not good on new engines! The special properties in some synthetics don't let piston rings seal correctly, thus the engine burns oil, so there goes another engine that needs replacing!

So this is why I say, these "superior" oils are not all that good no matter what you read on the internet!!!

 

so you recommend not using synthetics? i noticed peanut butter consistency and color before when i used regular, not anymore when i switched

 

^^^You can use them if you want, just keep up with the oil change intervals. I just see these oils as useless cause of the price and for me, since I work at a dealership, oil is oil, as long as you know when it HAS to be changed!

A few years back I went 25,000 miles on Amsoil and had it tested at Blackstone labs and the oil was still pretty good... I usually do 13,000 -15,000 now...on Amsoil 7,500 on Royal Purple and almost 100,000 miles and 33mpg no problems
