When does the low fuel light come on?

I filled up today, and it took just over 10 gallons, at what point does the low gas light come on? My old car had a light when you had around 3 gallons left.

ok listen this has been asked alot. Look around the form and youll find it about 3 or 4 times!!!!!!!!!!1 well to answer your question, it has about 2-1.5 Gal bfr it comes on

When the light hits, you have under 40miles to fill up. I went to a meet the other day and the trip was 33 miles. The light turned on a minute after I left home.

mine usually comes on when ive got about 275 miles on the tank

I have never let my tank run low enough for it to come on. Isn't it bad to run low on gas? I heard it sucks up sediments or something from the bottom of the gas tank.
