Is there another car that's slower in it's stock form? My ex's aveo is even noticebly faster(both accel & top speed).

The Echo has got to be slower!

 

Isn't the xB based on the Echo. And considering the xB probably weighs more, I would say it's quite possible the xB is slower.

As for the the questions stated in this thread, the xB is among the slowest stock cars for sale right now. It has to be, because it is SLOW (but getting 30mpg is all good for me).

 

id say a kia rio or even the base suzuki model both companies blow!

 

The (auto) - xb is sloooooow. the 5 speed isn't bad.

 

you bought a box with a 1.5L I-4. Why are you worried about power and speed? Trade it in for a civic if you care that much.

 

i have an auto and i raced a 5 speed 04 civic and put 2 links on it so atleast we are quicker than 1.7l hondas!!!! The only win i have under my belt i dont race much but the kid looked stupid

 

Isn't the xB faster in the 1/4 mile than the base jetta?

I have an auto and it is only slow off the line, not bad once the rpms are up over 2000.

The xB may be a slow car, depending what your comparing it to. Mine seems pretty quick for a little non turbo 4 banger.

umm aveo is much slower i know that for a fact. oh and hybrids can be quite fast deending upon the car. take the highlander hybrid 4i. very , very fast.

there are many cars on the market with quarter miles higher than 19 seconds. xb's are faster than that stock.

if both are manual the xB kills the echo it's economy gearing blows.

if both are auto the echo will be faster. cause bot use the same gearing for auto's .

 

Mine isn't so terrible, I can surprise a lot of unsuspecting folk at the stoplights. But yes it is NOT a speed-demon. I get the most fun out of how many gas stations I pass..lol.

 

i agree. i have the 5 speed and i think that makes a difference. i can still take off faster than most cars, especially because they don't expect our leetle boxes to go that fast!
and this happens almost everyday especially at traffic lights. i think that in our case, it's not how big your box is, but how you use it!
