I hope they can price it at about $600, HID goes bad ALL the time... Having warrenty on them would totally own!!

Heck I'd go as far as $800...

The only way I would opt out of this would be a R34 headlight conversion kit... I think the R34 headlights would look awesome along with the R34esk front end already....

I don't know much about HID but isn't $600 or $800 a little low for something like that? Especially considering Scion's track record for raping us with their option pricing.

It certainly would be nice but I doubt we'll even see HID at all, let alone at such a great price.

hmm thats weird, i've been running hids for close to 3 years now, i've gone through so many sets, i've used a set for over a year straight, i've ran hid kits on numerous numerous cars and i've never encountered a problem where it 'failed' as often as you said..

maybe the componets people u know use are not as good quality as it should be.

My friend brought his IS300 in I think 3 times to get the HID replaced...

People blow halogens all the time, but I've been driving for 5 years and only had 1set blown on me... So go figure...

As for options... I think it can be possible... It seems cheap yes, but not impossible... The only catch would be the warrenty... Anything over 1K would make me go aftermarket for some super bright ones :D

i think factory hid for $600 is about right.

as for hid, to get the bluish/purple angle color you need to run hid with a good projector right? i like the bluish/purple angle color, looks soo nice. i know you can just buy the hid with that color but i dont want it to be blinding other people on the road. 5000k is like white right? i know factory hid for bmw's are like 4100k. i'll be running hid in my car though.

Weird... we have a 99 Lexus GS400 with factory HID's that we have on all the time (auto-off :D), but haven't had to replace even a bulb yet. Before that was a 97 LS400, same story, never replaced a bulb.

Does anyone know what brand of HID's Toyota/Lexus uses? I think it's either Bosch or Philips, can't remember...

I've owned 2 sets of HIDs on 2 different cars for the past 4 years--not a single problem with them "going bad" for me.

only problems i ever heard of or encountered was crappy hid kits...
spw and mc cullugh both had messed up ____. BUT some people
dont have problems but some do.

i never had problems.. i ran kits left and right.. i drive all the time at nite.
never a problem.. hids are meant to use less power, last A LOT longer than halogens,
generate a lot less heat, and product 3 times the light output =)

I guess my friend got jacked... I also see some BMWs rolling around at night with a wink of angel eyes LOL... They don't blow out as often but they do and IF they do, it's money down the drain without warrenty

Hopefully we'll get something of this nature because I drive at night 75% of the time...

I have in front of me from toyota HQ the tC accessory line up sheet. It says what will be released when. And are no HID's but the tC comes with halogen auto-off headlamps. So it;ll be brighter than your normal boring yellow lights, like my corolla.

So, if I were to strap an HID kit to this thing would the auto-off feature still work? With the Lexus it's you leave them on all the time, hit lock once, it locks the doors, hit lock again, it turns the lights off and they stay off until you turn the car back on.
