Default Lowered blues,Sideskirt for RS 7.0

Under 500 miles on our new RS 7.0, and somehow crunched the right sideskirt. Makes me want to cry. Have not damaged our RS 1.0 at all in 6 years, it still looks perfect.

Can this single piece of a damd bodykit be bought painted, or do I have to buy a primered one and have a bodyshop shoot it? I bet the Murasaki paint is not inexpensive.

We don't know if we drove over a large parking lot speed bump too fast, or something on the freeway got us. We have heard the scrape when going over some speed bumps.

I am also suprised how often we grind the front lip with only the TRD drop.

How bad is the damage? It might be better to repair as i think these Release Series body parts are pricey. Not sure if these can be bought already painted but any capable body shop will be able to mix the color. The murasaki color should be no more expensive then any other color on the pallete because all the body shop does is mix materials together to get the desired color.

Gotta be more careful driving man. Even though the overall body of the car isnt that low these Damd pieces hang low.

Not true on the paint not being more expensive than any other paint on the pallette...I had some RS1 Hot Lava mixed up and that stuff costs an arm and a leg...Sorry to hear about the damage to the RS7...I feel ya though, I recently was driving my wife's RS7 (I have the the RS1 xD) and I was pulling into a parking spot and hit the right front lip on the parking curb and scuffed the crap out of it...Wife was not amused

To be completely honest, the front lip of the RS1 has ground parking curbs numerous times and you can see the scrapes on the bottom of the lip. Also backed the right rear bodykit piece into a high curb, resulting in a very small grey scrape mark. And two mysterious small sharp dings appeared in the middle of the hood a few years back. OK, now my conscience is clear! The plastic sideskirt could be repaired perhaps, but it is in a vulnerable location, and a repair would likely be easily damaged again. I would think the bodykit parts are painted off the vehicle, and assembled complete. If I could buy a prepainted piece and bolt it on myself I could save a bundle. I bought a rear spoiler from Sparks Toyota to install myself, saving over $500 from having it installed.

Price for spoiler on invoice was $795. Even called another dealer(stealer) who wanted $320 to install.

I did the same thing 2 days ago. Although I caught it before the whole thing was destroyed. I still cringe when i look at the big scratch on it. My fix will just be to remove to even up the adhesive. And put in new clips. I have already reduced the gap from 3cm to .5cm by bending back the clips that hold the rear of it to the wheel well. But the adhesive has been pulled from the body all the way to the front passenger door. I will need to fix it or get it fixed before winter.
