Please post pics of the mudflaps installed - I don't see many with the mudflaps. No worry about snow here in Houston.
THanks!

Has anyone tried to paint these eBay mud flaps. I want to get a set for my RS6.0, but I want them color matched to the body. This a practical mod (it rains a lot here in Oregon), but I want it to look nice. The black flaps look good on the silver and white xBs, but for my red car, I'd prefer the flaps be red, too.

So, if you have painted your eBay mudflaps, please post some pics. What prep work did you do? Did you use an adhesion promoter, or a primer? What type of paint and clear coat? How well does the paint stick Does it crack and chip or flake off? I'm new to painting plastics and want to know if I can get good DOY results, or if I should go to a pro for painting the mud flaps.

they are pretty flexible and painting them isnt a good idea imo...and paying someone to do it will most likely cost more than these things are worth (money and anything else...they are pretty cheep, but get the job done) like i said earlier, one ripped and i held it together using a bent metal piece and 4 rivets...so yeah

dont paint these :p

I ordered the knock offs on ebay myself. put them on real easy. Mine came with instructions that were spot on. In order to get the rear ones on you need to take the wheels off and drill some, but there's nubs where you need to drill so it is as easy as pie. I'm curious myself, living in the foothills of the adirondacks in NY here how they will hold up to snow this winter.

Bummer. While I think they look fine in black on the silver and white xBs, I only want them on my absolutely red RS6.0 if they can be painted to match the car.

Too bad the Rumion mud flaps don't come in absolutely red. At $220 they are seriously overpriced to begin with. I can't see spending even more to get them painted. There are many other mods I can think of that would be a better use of $300. Looks like my RS6.0 shall remain flapless.

I wanted mudflaps but didn't like the oem ones. I thought they were to short and pointless. So I made my own and I love the way they look, it gives kind of a rally inspired look to the xb. Here are some pics. They were a little longer but having them on for a few months I have drug them while driving and now they are shorter, but I think they look perfect. Plus they only like 20 bucks I think

Go to a truck stop(18 wheelers) and pick up 1 big ___ hard plastic mud flap. I can't remember the size but its just 1 mud flap. I went to an auto parts store by my house and bought a regular mud flap. I traced it on to the truck mud flap I bought and cut it out. Do it 4 times and there you have your flaps. 1 of the big mud flaps will give you 4 regular size flaps.

The white color matched rumion mud guards would look so much better on my car than those black rubbery ones. Are the Rumion ones hard plastic like they look?

The Rumion mudguards are made out of plastic, seem like the same material used for the front and rear fascias.
