Default Pics - Vortex Generators, Spoiler, Colgan Bra, Shark Fin....

And peeled A Pillar Tape

All mods are done for now, will lower in the fall.

Added the Colgan Bra and Spoiler i got from Sparks this weekend, and boy does the spoiler make a world of difference. I really hated the rounded off profile on the top of the rear end, and the spoiler really helps. I also think the VG's and Fin look pretty good with the spoiler.

I know the feelings about bras, but it does not look that bad IMHO (i like bras) and I have 5 rock chips and 2 dents in 5300 miles, so I want it on. Might do the film later, but that money is going to the drop.

Anyways, the title is long to help people with searching.

Here's a little time line of pics, I think it has evolved nicely:

Stock-

Wheels-

Shark Fin-

Vortex Generators-

So I don't know too much about them, but shouldn't all of the vortex generators be straight? That's how I typically see them on other vehicles like EVOs and such...

These VG's came with a template and degrees they should be mounted. 2 15 degree, one 10, one 5, then the outer 0.

Nah. I really dont think they do much, just more for looks. They were so cheap so I wanted to see what they looked like on the toaster, and I actually liked them ok.

A service guy at the local toyo dealer asked me about where to get the shark fin and vg's when I have it in getting the free 5k mile oil change. He's got a lowered xb the same color as mine with trd rims and brakes. Looks good.

Id say it slightly decreased in SS. Looks MUCH better IMHO, and the paint matching was good. Sticks on tight with 3m tape too.

They come in primer or black. The black is what I got and is very reflective of the paint, so they blend in well. Also stick with 3m style tape and hold very good.

Yes, you can buy it separate.

I almost opted for it only, but the plastic areas are getting nicked too.

Decided to go try it and love the look, much meaner.

Gonna roll it like this for awhile and leave the whole front pc off.

I think the VG's in combination with the shark fin make a pretty aggressive look in the back. I think your box would look even more awesome with larger wheels. But the combination looks great. The bra is nice, but I don't like the fact that it covers your top grill. Now that you have just the hood protector on, it looks great, but now it's obsolete. After all, the rest of the front of your car will be hit with rocks and bugs. Kind of defeats the purpose of a bra, right?

But I like it. The mods look really great on your xB.

Thanks!

Now that I few weeks have gone by, I do think the VG's work well with the fin and do look more aggressive.

One the bra, Ive noticed that when rocks hit the plastic, they tend to not take paint. When they were hitting the metal hood, they dented and took paint.

Since keeping the top part of the bra, Ive taken 3 good rock shots and its not hurt the bra or the paint

Im going to keep the rim size I have, but I am going to lower it later in the year.

It is a Colgan bra. I'm only using the hood part now, entire thing was a little ugly. Its a quick on and off.
