Default Canister valve..

Hey guys whats up, I have a 2013 and I have been trying to diagnose my EVAP codes

P0455 - EVAP System Leak Detected (large leak)
P0441 - EVAP System Incorrect Purge Flow

Yes I already changed the gascap, same thing comes back.

I have done a ton of reading and today I even took out my intake solenoid and tested that with a 12v source and it seems to function properly.

I was next thinking the problem is the canister valve.

I have been trying to find the canister valve online just to have a look, but what I am thinking is that it is built into the actual canister and it's not a separate part.

Maybe I'll just take off the whole canister and see what I can understand about it with this valve.

And If I need a new canister because of this valve (just because I'm thinking the actual canister usually isn't the problem) I will find one on eBay or a local junk yard.

Any tips is testing my canister/valve would be great appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Is this what you tested with the 12 volt source?

Yep exactly.

I know I should probably do pressurized test to fully conclude that it's functional and I probably will do that next.

I did the hack way of blowing into it and sucking and I got literally nothing.

I have a 1st gen manual that says you need 0.39 kPa (4.0 kgf/cm2, 3 mmHg)

You can also check the resistance with a multi meter. Here's some 1st gen info that might assist.

Thank you so much for manual and I'm about to look over it.

I know the 1st Gen does actually have a valve that has a part number and it is separate from the actual canister, but there is no such part number for the 2nd Gen that I have seen.

I need to just take the thing off tomorrow and see what's up with it and why the valve is how it is, where ever it is.

I will update this thread to help others who find it from Google.

Sorry, it's only a specific section. Please check your PMs.

In testing the purge vsv located on intake hose when you connected to a 12 volt source (ie battery) could you feel it clicking? Also you should be able to blow through it with either connected or disconnected from battery.

yep it would click when I applied the 12v source, could not blow through it until I applied the 12v source.

I did a smoke test with a cigar and find smoke coming out of the gas cap on both the new cap and the oem cap, about the same amount of smoke.

I'm going to start a new thread maybe I can figure out how to fix the problem. The car was in accident drivers side rear before I bought it I will post pics with a good title.

Are you getting 12V from the wiring harness connector with ignition on? If no, check the wiring for rat nibbles.
How about corrosion on the contacts... try giving the socket (female side) a short squirt of WD40 and plugging the connector in a couple of times to wipe the corrosion off
Never know, it might just work

Just read your other post - can probably ignore this suggestion

it turned out to be a hose that had a tear in it. And this happened because I had topped off my tank a few times in a row.

NEVER TOP OFF YOUR GAS, EVER!
