Disappointing 18 mpg in City...
Bought a used 2015 xB Parklan Edition off a Toyota Dealer about 5 months ago and it only had 23k on it. I was super stoked as i felt like it was pretty much brand new (I am the second owner)! I do mostly city driving and only getting a disappointing average 18 miles per gallon as I was expecting to get around 22 mpg at least. After doing a bit of research online, I have replaced the engine air filter (even though the one in there was in good shape still) and put in 1 bottle of Sea Foam injector cleaner so far but it has not made an difference. BTW, I do not drive fast, I get gas mostly from Sam's or Costco and I do check tire pressure at least once a week as a routine.
Any ideas?

Depending on what tires it has on it and if it has anything like a roof rack, added weight, etc, that could impact your mpg. Rarely do you get the actual mpg that it's estimated at on websites as their testing conditions are not the same.
That does sound a little low to me but not low enough to think any components have failed.

I cannot really think of what else could be causing it at this point.

Something is definitely off to be getting that low of a mileage. I run the same gas, have 20 inch wheels, lots of sound deadening and audio equipment, all of the stuff for my air ride and drive hard an I still manage 21.5 mpg.
I'd have it hooked to a real time diagnostic scanner, not just a code reader, and see if a mechanic can see anything blatantly wrong. Also what size wheels and tires does it have? The wrong size can cause the speedometer/odometer to read incorrectly and there may be nothing wrong.

That seems like a clean low miles stock Xbox and would think it would do better. I have a 2015 low miles as well and do get better mileage, but not much better. I'm also disappointed. I match mileage city driving/commuting with my 4Runner and the 4Runner beats the Scion for highway mileage. I eventually gave up thinking about it, I love the car and enjoy driving it.
Congratulations on your Parkland edition, nice rare car. I came close to buying one from a dealer, Really wanted one bad, but it was a roach and they wanted more than it was worth, especially with the paint peeling off it.
If you find anything out regarding this, please share. Now I'm thinking about it again.
