Sorry, I'm afraid TrevorS and ScionFred seem to be rubbing a difference anymore ! Can't say I enjoy that myself (I truly would prefer to fully endorse the input of ScionFred), but the most important thing is that readers of these threads get the best information and are hopefully in the position to draw their own conclusions. Although individuals among us may make arguments, it's important that each of us evaluate both inputs and other information to try to best determine the right answers for ourselves. It's a shame this stuff isn't as simple as we would like it to be !

I think we just need to agree to disagree sometimes. I've come to realize that Trevor and I often approach the same subject from different perspectives which leads to different conclusions. As Trevor said, it's important for the individual reader to determine which view/opinion more closely suits their own perspective on the subject. It ain't as simple as black and white, it's more often shades of grey.

Once you install a new header, you are eliminating the O2 sensor that comes in the stock OEM header. This will trip a Check Engine Light. To eliminate the CEL, install a CEL eliminator. This will install on the O2 sensor near the flange, which is basically where the header connects to the exhaust piping in the undercarriage. Simple screw them together and you space out your O2 sensor, which in turn virtually eliminates that CEL. Typically direction does not matter.

The dip stick will have to be spaced out. If you have the right tools, you can bend the dipstick bracket to space it out properly.

Since you have never modified a car, installing this equipment will take longer than an hour. Make sure to follow the directions you find on this forum exactly and take your time. If you do not have the right tools, you need to get them or else you will prolong the install process.
Thanks for the input! When the finances allow it I'm definately gonna do this.

Is there much of a benefit from buying either of these two bolt ons vs the name brand ones that cost $$$$$ more.
Example: this CAI http://www.fastscions.com/injen-cold...B2-SP2106.aspx @ $290 vs the Ebay one.
Or
This header http://www.fastscions.com/weapon-r-4...3-204-106.aspx @ $486 vs Ebay one.

^It's honestly up to you xb2owner. I made this thread to show everyone that performance parts off of ebay (if properly researched) could do just as well as name brand parts.

My cold air intake and header off of ebay are still going strong to this day, and I haven't had a single problem from them.

If you are big on buying name brand stuff, go for it! If you want the best bang for the buck, I'm happy to provide you with the seller I bought my parts from.

Either way, you will LOVE the car with a cold air intake and header on it vs stock

Sure. Let me know who the seller is. I'm ready to buy at the end of next month. Thanks!

I know everyone here seems to be posting engine bay ebay parts but i was wondering if anyone tried one of these steering wheel hub and quick release adapters before.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/STEERING-WHE...7f346e&vxp=mtr

A buddy of mines use to run an ebay hub on his 240 for drifting and it seemed to hold off fine, but it was a different seller. Then I've read on posts and heard from people about their bad experiences also.

So now that it has been a while since you bought the CAI what does the filter look like? What shape is it in and if you need a new one what could you buy? Oh, is this a dry or oiled filter?

I know this post is over a year old but I've bought the Ebay K2Motors CAI so would this work on it? By looking at Roller's pics this would take place of the blue rubber boot joining the two aluminum pieces? Looks like some cutting would be needed but I'd be cutting off the ribbed ends on both aluminum pieces. It rains a lot here in NC and want to be cautious!
This CAI also looks like it can be SRI as well, right?

I don't know if anyone else has noticed the eBay seller that had the header now has lowering springs for around $90 and they come in 3 exciting colors. Anyone tried these out yet?

@cgreer20 hey man I'm not sure if you are looking at the same ones that I purchased but I bought a set of m2 performance springs that were a light blue color they lowered the car 1.5" and it sits level and I love the ride from them... They seem to be holding up great! I have 2011 scion rims on my xb with 275/40r18's and they are super wide tires that don't rub at all since I've put the springs on.. Anyways I paid $23 dollars for the springs and a sucky $45 dollars for shipping but I love them.. Maybe that will help!

The ebay sellers i have seen with sub $100 springs are idrive135i , myamericantrends, and ilovetacotaco. idrive135i has sold them for years, they claim to be same spec as TRD but the drops are different. maybe they mean same spec materials or something, giving them the benefit of the doubt , they are from Canada. The others just poped up a few weeks ago, and they come in colors red, blue, and purple. I recently saw an xb that had been lowered on one of these cheap springs and it didn't look bad and she said she liked the ride. Thats the extent of my knowledge on the topic.

It is still working great! i'm pretty sure it's a dry filter, the filter is actually pretty clean (just checked it).
