External Oil Cooler
Anyone running any external oil coolers on their xB2? The kind that chill out on the front bumper. I'm toying with the idea for when I relocate my transmission cooler, and I'd love to see a picture of it. Also, any help on how you mounted and where you ran your lines if you've done this mod would be great.

Look up the Boso xb1 (James aka YellowSub). Google Boso xB1 and you'll find it with out issue. (was a legendary build with some crazy 15x13 magnesium wheels we found for him) Although it's a 1rst gen, it'll help guide you.
Also, a tip. You are going to need to run a thermostat on the line. At lower temps, the oil will not flow properly starving your engine.

I have seen that one and I really liked it. It's actually part of why I'm so drawn to the idea.
This isn't for my engine oil, it's actually for my transmission fluid. I have a turboed automatic and an aftermarket radiator so I need an external cooler to keep my transmission from overheating. I already have the cooler installed but over about 6 months it had just enough contact with my AC condenser I put a hole in it. I figure this is one of the best ways to prevent that from happening again and it should look pretty cool.

Oh, my whole point with that second paragraph was that I don't think I need to add in a thermostat as I haven't had any issues with my current setup and the transmission is always cooled in an auto.

I'm not a fan of the look myself, but do what you want! I think you could build a bracket that would easily screw into the OEM tow hook hole. Similar to how the P-Tuning license bracket works.
You could probably use a different grille (e.g. TRD for the CAI) and run the cooler on the passenger side of the bumper.

I did widen my intake to a bit over 3" wide for a ram-air intake once upon a time and I do need a new bumper. Insurance agreed to pay to widen it again but depending on how much the shop is asking for the work, I may not do it. That's part of why I'm considering the external mount. My thoughts for mounting were to attach to the metal of the bumper support. The tow hook hole scares me because I don't want it to rotate and twist/pull any hoses.
