Default Heat Shield problems?

Hi all! I was wondering about the heat shield that is between the exhaust and the gas tank on my 2009 xB.
I found it to be dragging on the ground today so I pulled it out.
Does anybody know if it's going to be a problem in the future or will I be fine?

Thank you for your input.

You must live in the cold country, where the heat shield fasteners have corroded away?

Its probably not too critical, but I think you should re-mount it when you can (the engineers put it there for a reason)
