P0453 Code / Engine shutting off?
So I drive a 2008 xB, 113k miles, this issue started this afternoon. I started my car and the check engine light was on, along with my Traction Off light and my VSC Off light. I drove home with no issues, drove to my grandpas with no issues, checked the Code and was given P0453 (EVAP system). I made it about 3/4 of the way back home and was slowing down to stop at a stop sign when my oil pressure light popped up and my Rpms dropped below 500, then the car just shut off and wouldn't crank again. I let the car sit for about 15 minutes on the side of the road, checked my oil and it hadn't moved since the last time I checked it which was about 2 weeks ago. I figured I would try starting it one more time, and it fired right up with all the Check Engine, VSC, and Traction Lights still on but the oil pressure light went away and the car was idling fine again. I was able to drive it the rest of the way home with no issues.
What should my first steps be towards diagnosing this?

Looks like you've got 2 separate problems:
1. oil light - what is oil-level as shown on dipstick?
2. evap codes - look at possible causes in list above. Follow troubleshooting steps in manual to test individual evap components. DO NOT replace anything until you've tested it and confirmed its bad based upon measurement numbers
most common cause of these evap codes are cracked vacuum lines controlling evap system. There's a plastic T-fitting under tank that's often cracked. Typically only part that needs replacement. Crack is caused by vacuum hose just hanging and causing stress on plastic T. Best to strap that hose to body after replacing T to avoid this happening again.

Yep, any site that had them posted for distribution got a friendly 'cease and desist' letter from Toyota attorneys, including this site where you used to be able to find them.

I have had this PO453 issue on the backburner for a few months with my 300K 2006 xB. I went ahead and bought a new pressure sensor while having Covid back in September with the intention of changing the part.
Anybody know where the pressure sensor is located?? I did not see it above the fuel tank assembly plate, only the plug and did not remove the plate.
So would it be under the plate?? Going to check that T next then circle back to the part already purchased.
Thanks!
