It's a fun project. I got the Tc CAI from Autogrimmig for under $80 shipped and the rest of the materials from Home Depot for under $20. You'll need 2"x1/4" AL bar stock for the MAF adapter plate (or buy a better billet one from Randode), 1"x1/4" AL bar stock for the mounting brackets, various AL washers and bushings (MAF stand-offs), a 1" drill bit or hole saw, assorted drill bits, files, a drill, hacksaw, some assorted nuts and bolts and a vise, grinding wheel, drill press and dremel tool really help.

Good luck and feel free to PM me if you need any help.

on my wifes xB I shortened one of the pipes about 3" and made new brackets. Then the maf adapter bolts to the intake, and the maf bolts into the adapter.

That is PIMP.

Is there room to use the short ram TC intake? Would that need to be cut down as well?

I dont think you'd have to modify the length on the short ram intake since it is shorter already. It looked like there is enough room near the battery

Boxer... I wouldnt use the Short Ram... In my opionion.. and you can test it out yourself... if you were to install the short ram you would get a lot of hot air from the engine. .. test your car after a drive one day just put your hands on the edges of the hood hot air comes from the sides where the short ram would be... the header area seems to be alright from the hood. its kindof weird how it does that.. none of my other cars did that. I would just suggest the cold air intake...

I was wondering though... it is sucky to change the filter on the CAI isnt it? or is there a trick i dont know?... I was thinking about making a "trap door" kind of thing in the wheel well to be able to change or clean the filter better. does that make sense?

Also I was wondering how hard it is to get the fake brake cooler vents out... and if i got them out If i was to drimel the slots out that are there but not punched out already .. if that would help maybe both the breaks and getting some cold air to the CAI..? I dunno I havnt looked under there much yet. just a thought. maybe some kind of "scoop" to direct the sir up to the CIA?...
