Default Shortened Manual Shift Lever (followup)

To the best of my knowledge, there are three possibilities for reducing the manual shift throw in our cars (i.e. sportier shift action). They are:

1. TRD Quick Shifter -- transmission mounted mod that reduces fore/aft shift throw by about 30% and increases resistance to that throw accordingly. Many have removed the Quick Shifter after purchase due to notchiness. (Doesn't change side-to-side shift throw or **** height.)

2. Axxtion shift kit -- transmission mounted mod that reduces the fore/aft shift throw by about 50% and increases resistance to that throw accordingly. Seems to be relatively few purchasers thanks to the high resistance and resulting tendency to overshoot neutral when shifting -- plus the notchiness is even greater. (Doesn't change side-to-side shift throw or **** height.)

3. Shortened Shift Lever -- shift console mod that reduces both fore/aft and side-to-side shift throw by about 14% and increases resistance to fore/aft shift throw accordingly (side-to-side resistance can stay near unchanged). Also reduces shift **** height making for a more comfortable reach for the driver and a more sporty appearance. No notchiness issues.

I personally went with the shortened shift lever and really like it.

BTW -- The short shifter is available at an introductory price of $99 with free shipping within the contiguous U.S. states and I'll pay $25 for a good condition original shifter assembly

I picked one of these up from Trevor and its expected to be delivered this week. I will be sure to post up my thoughts once I have it installed in the car and drive for a few days.

Thanks again Trevor!!
