Default Tenzo R or Weapon R CAI? I need help

So Im sure this has been asked before, but I scrolled through the pages and couldn't find it. Im definitely going to get an intake, but I'm really not sure which to choose. The tenzo R is so cheap, and the weapon R isn't at a bad price either. Watchall think.

I went with the Tenzo CAI and im happy with the purchase. I purchased it for $134 shipped. I am pleased with it and havent had any problems. It was fairly easy to install although i am **** about stuff like. I hope this helps.

NO WAY!! Go with either AEM or Weapon R cold air intake. They are both awesome intakes, right around $270 or less. those are the best 2 i think. I have the AEM and I love it. if the weapon r cai had been out last april i probably would have gotten that one

Its a tube and a filter... it really doesn't matter which one you get...

Yeah, maybe 10% better performance for over 2x the cost...

I'd get the Tenzo-R and use the savings to buy something else that will more than make up for the possible ~10% performance gap.

buy the tenzo, save the money, intakes on our engines have negligible gains, maybe 5 Hp max, so why twice as much for the same thing? just make sure you oil the tenzo filter before using it if you do buy it!

it seems like a lot of people on here are into price not quality. i wouldnt waste my money on something unless i felt it was the best, thats just how i do my car but it seems like majority focus on price. let us know what u get, im sure youll be happy either way

^no, some of us have just been on scionlife long enough to see enough dynos and people talk smack about quality and price, to know whats worth the money, and whats not

and trust me, on our engines, CAI produce very little results! on top of that, i have a tenzo CAI, which is an exact replica of injen, on top of that im using an Injen filter (one thing that acctually matters on an intake) and a CAI panel from Doc isotope made for injen

No CEL, same sound, and guess what? my buddys car feels no faster then mine, so how do you argue against that?

Im not gonna argue with u over something minor like this but I will say that a AEM or Weapon R CAI is better. simple facts. wether u want something cheaper that performs almost the same or want a high quality design is up to u.

Best to make an informed decision. Note that you can't directly compare the dyno results between the 2 links because it's TC vs XB, MT vs AT and other mods but you can see how poorly the oem airbox, K&N drop-in, K&N Typhoon and a short-ram performed and how well the Injen and AEM CAIs performed.

not arguing, simply stating facts, to the op, if 2-3 HP is really worth 200 extra dollars, then by all means go ahead, but that money could be used for other mods

AFAIK, the Tenzo is a copy of the AEM. What I'd do is get the Tenzo, and buy an AEM filter to pop on. The filter is the important part...

geez why are there so many threads on this. Buy an ebay intake an then replace the ebay filter with an AEM or K&N filter.

This is my opinion but I wouldnt trust anything but weapon-r parts on my car infact I own every aftermarket part offer for the gen2 and I do feel and hear the difference. Weapon-r is more then willing to share the results/hp gain of all their parts which they do on this forum very often.

You pay for peace of mind and documented gain when you go with weapon-r.
