Here are the TRD CAI install instructions, they are very detailed:

why does no one here have the trd cai?!?!? nobody likes the box design? i figured it would be almost impossible to hydro-lock the motor. With that design the water would have to come up to the headlights to get into the inlet tube. Granted i have never heard another intake on another xb but i think it sounds awesome. im just curious why its not even talked about in here?

Heres a couple of reasons

1. Cost (around 300.00 bucks or more)

2. If the intake is as high as the headlights you are probaly getting more heat than the other CAIs.

3. The air flow is not as straight as the other CAIs.

4. The install requires you to take the bumper off. (I am pretty sure)

You are right on most points you mentioned. Cost is high, pipe is not as straight. You dont need to take the bumper off just pull the fender liner off at the front. The opening for the box i would say is at leats 6 inches under the headlamp. and it comes with a functional vent!! lol
