Default 2012 Scion Pioneer Premium Head Unit?

Anyone have ANY information on the model number or specs for this unit? I just picked up my 2012 xB with this unit, and the dealership did not include the manual as they had to take the unit out of another 2012.

However, my salesperson called Scion to order a replacement head unit for the xB they cannibalized, and the Scion sales agent told my salesperson that they were no longer selling the 2012 premium head unit.

I'm a little concerned - they seemed to JUST make that unit available, and suddenly they are possibly discontinuing it..

Just looking for information - I love the head unit, just worried now that there's either an issue with it or some other unknown causing them to stop selling it.

Thanks, all!

All I know is, is that the 2012MY headunits apparently have standard Blutooth capability. I would look for that feature to ensure it's a 2012 MY headunit.

If you go to www.scion.com and "Build Your xB", you will see that for 2012 the only audio systems are the Pioneer Standard Audio System and the Scion Navigation System 200. It wouldn't surprise me though if some dealerships are selling the former Premium Pioneer head unit in 2012 models just for the up-sell.

They must be waiting to add it to the Scion.com website until it is actually available.

Talked to a guy on Scion.com chat yesterday and he confirmed that it was still delayed, but that it will indeed be available. No ETA or MSRP but It looks like it will be a "good, better, best" type of scenario like before and that the unit I posted above will fall into the better slot.

I got my xB 3weeks ago with the Pioneer upgraded HU. it is too new to be outdated. the salesman hadn't even seen one yet.

It's a great unit. It can even receive A/V input for video. See the manual.

The factory website shows various instruction videos. There's one on this unit and it's worth watching.

Good luck!

In the Scion website, under the xB section, select "Features and Specs." Then select "Interactive Features and Guides." In the middle of the screen, on the left of the panel you'll see Audio as an option. Select that and then go to the Pioneer Premium Audio selection and you're there. Below is a link I HOPE works, as the website is very Flash-rich and hard to navigate.

Would a stock 2012 pioneer radio work in a 2009 XB as far as aux, Ipod, and steering wheel control as just a plug in play radio?

I would bet that it would work...toyota has used the same harnesses on radios for over a decade.

I think you may be right. I looked at the installation instructions at TRD Sparks and they show an included adapter harness that might make it work. Assuming that the main harness hasn't changed from 08-12. I suspect that there could still be some issues with the missing bluetooth mic and remote iPod interface.

I have a question about this model of stero. Can anyone else see their art work when they have their ipod plugged in? Because there is clearly a space (very large, in fact) on the display for it, but it's blank. I would really like it if I could get the art to show up, but I am clueless as to how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
