Hey Guys, still pondering getting a 3rd Gen touch, and i am reading about all these adapters etc. But looking at all said adapters i cannot see how i can use a charger and my stock iPOD connector at the same time.
My adapter is: PT546-21062

Is there an adapter that goes in between the iPOD touch and my adapter cable, and then plug to cigarette lighter?

Hope i didn't miss something in the posts i read.

wait a sec. Im confused. if you have a pioneer deck that will play audio via USB, then your touch will charge when connected to it (i have a dvd pionneer unit) if your trying to charge it using the stock ipod connecter builit in to the car. it wont work. because when u changed HU's that connetion is gone unless u rewired it.

So if ur looking to just charge ur ipod tho via cig light. look at the IGO (find it on ebay) and then just get some trips.

 

sry hope i wasnt unclear. I have the Stock pioneer with the stock iPOD and MP3 connection in the armrest. So that cable plugs in to it then the iPOD Touch but i know 3rd gen iPOD will not charge. So what i wondered is: Can i connect the ipod touch 3rd gen with my cable into the stock connector, and at the same time charge it.
I hear mention of a USB adapter as the 3rd gen charges from usb, but can you plug in usb at the same time as the remote iPOD jack.

There's an adapter that belkin makes. It works like a charm on my iPhone 3G. I think the iPod touch is the same...

 

this is one of the questions that makes me love my usb port.

usb flash drive - plugged in. done. no messing around with ipods, etc.
