Default Buickid's '08 NMB Audio Thread

So I decided to consolidate my audio endeavors into one thread from now on.
See previous threads here:

Okay, so I got a few pictures from when I re-did my mids/highs. (They're in backward chronological order it appears...)

Nice equipment. Have you done any sound deadening or bracing? It makes a world of difference, especially on the roof.

Yep, put a layer in the doors, as well as put butyl between the crash/impact bars and the outer sheet metal in the doors. Kinda ran out of deadening for the roof, but I have about three layers in the center two quarters of the roof, and one layer in rear quarter. I also shot foam in the braces to kill the rattle. The only thing that rattles now is the trunk, and I think that may be inevitable without SERIOUS deadening...

I like your pic of the box in a box, really shows off the capacity of the cargo area. And you're showing the typical installer posture: bent over like a pretzel doing work on the ground. Even though I have a pretty decent woodworking shop, I still find myself working on the ground for my car stuff! That and being on my knees for an extended time (note to self, get tougher kneepads). Great photos showing the progress of your work.

Buickid, no offense but you don't need to insert commas before the word and. Well, in serial cases it may be proper but for sentences like the one below:

The only thing that rattles now is the trunk, and I think that may be inevitable without SERIOUS deadening...

You do not need the comma. With that said, I need some sleep. HAHA, sorry for threadjacking. Continue with your awesome project.

^ You're technically correct, the comma isn't required. However, when writing prose the comma is acceptable, as it indicates a pause in the sentence, just as you might expect when speaking. I think the OP's use was appropriate, in the example you cited.

Meh, I only did a 146.7 (TL legal, sealed at dash) at that competition, but I did a 147.0 during the test/tune sesh two nights prior to that. I don't like this box though, tuned a little bit too high for me (It is very violent on the higher notes though). Maybe I'll rebuild during Christmas break...
