Thanks to those folks for putting out info that made this a bit less painful and to my 2 brothers Shawn and Louis along with the homeboy George for helping out tremendously with the second half of my tablet/stereo install. I'll post up pictures soon.
ven- congrats on the setup, this looks awesome! i had a couple of questions --
1) did you keep your stock radio? did you recess it / move it back into the dash to make the tablet fit?
2) exactly how are you powering this? i see the tap behind the cig lighter, and the usb ports, but exactly what did you do?
enjoy the setup man! it looks clean and must be so much fun to have everything at your fingertips on long trips.

No stock head unit. Sold scion navigation to my brother to help fund the project. To power the tablet I installed another 12v socket behind the dash and it's sorta bolted to the cross plate under the steering wheel. Just loosen the bolt and slip the mounting tab inbetween the plate piece thingy (10th picture). There's a nut under the white plastic piece behind the stock 12v socket. Loosen it then slip power wire tab under, then tighten the nut. I used the stock location for the ground (11th picture). You'll need to get a usb adapter that can push enough power to the tablet. 1.0amp is not enough, 2.1amps or more is what you need. And even then the tablet will slow drain if I use Google maps, Pandora, wifi (data connection), and the screen on full bright. Oh yeah you'll also need a micro usb cord with a right angle bend to clear the inside of the vent.

How are you running it as a source, do you have it running directly to an amp, processor, converter?

Just gotta carpet the boxes and maybe get new door speakers. Just incase anyone wants to know I am running a Nexus 7 tablet, but if you are going to run something different you're gonna wanna measure the diameter of the bezel and your choice of tablet to make sure it'll fit. If you decide to go with a Nexus 7 I'd suggest on waiting for the new one that's scheduled to be released in a couple of months. Of course wait and measure that too before you buy it.

Thank you, but honestly it's not bad. The subs aren't ideal for the boxes, but they were sorta free, so I used what I got for now. I may pack more polyfil into them to see if that'll improve the sound. If I have some extra cash I'll end up snagging a pair of shallow mount subs. I hear Pioneer makes a decent unit.

Yes, once you relocate the sensors under each seat. Here's what I did for the driver's seat one...

a lil double stick tape and it's good to go. Follow brickpig's example for the one on the passenger side.

How much room is there under the bar?

I'm not by my car right now, but I believe it's about 1/4"-1/2" with the amps. probably 4"-5" without.
Have you had any problems with your yaw rate sensor being mounted like that? I tried relocating mine and it freaked the anti-slip system out. I wound up having to take the car into the dealer today and they had to recalibrate the sensor to turn the system back on.
Thanks guys. And while android may not be for everybody, one gotta figure on what will actually fit in the bezel with little effort. I personally like android stuff and the tablet does what I need it to do, but it isn't as easy to live with as a normal head unit would be. Still got some tweaking to do. I got some grounding issues to sort out also. Hopefully a ground loop isolator will solve it, plus the big 3 ground and power thingamadoober.

Okay mission accomplished. Here was my little issue, after everything was installed the system sounded cool, but I noticed that my tablet wasn't charging (because the dude that did the install didn't plug the power back up). Anyways once I put power to the tablet my subs wouldn't fire plus there was a lot of feedback. So I pulled the rca's for them out of the eq and everything sounded fine minus the bass of course. I did a bit of research online and found out that I may need a ground loop isolator to take care of that or do the big 3 power and ground thingy. I decided to try the isolator 1st to see if that'll help, so I went to Radioshack and bought one of theirs for $20 (you could get a cheaper one on eBay or Amazon) because I'm impatient, plus incase it didn't work I could return it right away. Anyways I hooked it up to the aux jack from the tablet and it helped a bit, but I still had some feedback. So I hooked it up to the rca's for the subs and it fixed 99% of my distortion (the 1% is really faint), which I'm considering good for now. I may snag another ground loop isolator for the aux line to cure the rest or I may just proceed with the big 3. All in all I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out though I've gone a lil over my budget of $500-$600.
Anywho here's what the ground loop isolator from Radioshack looks like:

Looks good! I'm working on a android tablet install myself. I'm using a Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0. I've got all the stereo apps installed, tasker programmed so its fully automated now. I bought the amp and all the rca's, and the Bluetooth adapter. Hopefully I'll have the fiberglass pan made tonight and hopefully have the stereo bezel modified this weekend. I'll post pics when I get it done. So far I'm about $500 into my project.

Here is a small update of my creation. I don't think it came out too bad for my first time working with fiberglass. I had to make mine removable as the AZ heat bakes electronics in the summer time. I'll post up the finished pics this weekend hopefully.
