dj........ there is a pic of the naked circuit board in the DIY... print that picture out to have for a reference....
Then you use your stock gauge face to locate the bulbs you want to swap.. for example.. I couldnt see my 'Lights' or "Cruise" & "Hi-Beams" icons thru my new gauge face.. They were stock green lights, (except for the HI-BEAMS which was a kind of UV dim white)...
I used the stock gauge face to reference their location on the circuit board & switched those 3 to WHITE plcc's.. SO.. just look to your stock gauge face,,, hold it up to the light & you'll see the icons. Then find the location on the circuit board for that particular bulb you want to swap.. It aint hard, man.. just look!!!!good luck & you better post up pictures of your work...
.. jh

I completely missed those in the window and traction contrik buttons. I guess that I have another project this week. I will post pics when my stuff gets back from Patterntek.

Hi Guys,

There isn't anyone that has posted one for the radio. I too have good soldering skills and have done all of the other stuff myself, including the HVAC ***** and I gave up on doing the stereo LED's myself. The LED's are so small, that they were impossible to work with. To put it into perspective, they were about 1/4 the size of a PLCC-2 LED.

My conversion was done by Sean @ LEDmod.com. He did it one day! The work is impeccable too. That's were I bought my conversion kit for the dash, HVAC, Mode button and stereo.

Loneeagle,

If you supply the LED's, I'll do the solder work for you on the gauges. Just PM me.

DJ,

Are you still talking about the stereo or for the mode button? For the mode button, they would help, but they aren't necessary. For the stereo, I'd say YES.

actually im refering to the gauge faces in general. i think i will leave my radio alone. i haven't found a solid DIY and i don't got the money to pay. so i think i'll just save for that avic-d3 i keep hearing about.

btw how do i get the needles out of the gauge face?? i got a desgin in there but idk how to get the needle, *****, and black long things out (buttons for mode switches)

The needles just pop right off. Just grab both side with your fingertips and pull gently. Be careful not to bend the posts.

You don't pull those button caps off. You can leave those where they are.

Just pull the whole gauge assembly out and remove the screws. Then you can separate the whole assembly at that point.

look at my post here in the first page of this thread, brian...

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...r=asc&&start=0

shows a pic of the leds.. & they are the 500's....... they'll do just fine......
dont know about the 800's though........

on page 3 of this thread, the guy 'vertex' said he got the 800's & promised pics of them done up, but he never returned yet...

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=asc&&start=40

mabey you can PM him & ask him to show us the pics of the 800's in use....

BUT I see no ones really asked or prepared you to the point that you WILL have to remove the LCD screens too!! & let me tell you, bud.. that's gonna test your nerve! It sure did mine.. Anyways, they just seems so fragile & I didnt want to bust them, so be carefull, paitent & slow & methodical.. dont force them, just tug evenly on all sides if you can.... good luck, dude.......... jh
