You need some of those,?? I bought a set, but really dont like em, as the led's kept wanting to slip out of the jaws.. I even bent them slightly to give em a better grip, but I just like the regular tweezers better... Shoot me a Pm with your address & I'll mail them to you.
To wire them, you just solder small wire to each side of them & make sure you also put one of those resistors in one of the wires.. then hook it up to 12 volt.. if it dont turn on, then reverse the hook up & it'll light! I used them for the inside of my speakers, inside the window switches, up agianst the plexi-glass sub cover, & if you sell me some, ( you dont have to you know, if you got some extra), I may go inside the A/C dash vents too & inside of my mirror housings ( to glow between the mirror glass & the housing from the inside). The possibilities are endless as they have a wide angle output to them versus regular leds which are more of a 'spot beam'... have fun with then, DJ.. You'll see once you start wiring theem up & sticking them places....
As far as your P R N D L.... there is only 1 light bulb in there now.. It has only 2 wires going to it. YOu tap into those 2 wires with your new blue light wires... then test it.. If it dont light up, then reverse the hook up & it'll work... Ijust tapped into the existing bulb wires... the stock bulb is still there & lit, just removed it from the housing & let it dangle deep inside the shifter cavity........ you'll see, man.......... you did your dome light & your turn sigs... just take your time........ one light at a time....... test after each hook up.....
good luck...

i second that motion! tip though, make sure that you test the light before you reassemble everything cause if you dont get the polarity right of the LED then it wont light up and it sucks to disassemble everything..

different colors need different power. blue, Green, White yellow, they need more power with in case would make it brighter. The power wouldn't matter to us because it's a constant power through the circuit board. If we were to start from scratch it would be matter because we would pick how much power and brightness is being release at a time.

P.S. I'm glad that my DIY has been helping so many of you guy here on SL.

This link here goes to 5mm LEDs. They are NOT the type that goes into the LED swap for the gauges.... For the gauges, you need PLCC-2's....... NOT the 5mm or 3mms.. just so's you dont order the wrong ones..... GL jh

thanks jim just orded the bulbs. will be here wensday or so. who knows. i got regular tweezers. so ya that should be ok. make a vid/tut/w/e fot putting them in the ac vents. i doubt i'll use all 50 between the dash sending u 15 and the mode button. so that would be fun to have it light up in there when the lights come on. i got the dash pads so no more lights in the cub vents otherwise i gotta cut stuff up and idk wanna do that. having some in the door handles/cup handles woulda been sweet though.

Peace

also ( i seem to do this alot) where can i buy resitors i would assume i would need those

I was considering doing White, guys.... Should I do white, or blue? Someone mentioned the white might be too distracting. I have all blue lights now, I think a white accent might be cool to the 'frostbyte' theme.

That HKJE LED lamp center place gave me 50 - 510 Ohm Resistors instead of my LEDS!

mauiGideon: are you sure you didnt get them?? Shoewbox thought the same thing too, but on closer look, they were in there.. very small....... a strip about3/16"tall & about 2 " long..... black w/white spots (the leds).....

hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm good luck with them! (HKJE)...

Vertex.. I am liking your idea to mix them up!!!.. you know your speedo screen has 6 leds behind it.. 2 rows of 3...... I am thinking.. white over blue....
and the LCD clock screen has one row of 3......... mabey white/blue/white......
If you got the time & patirence, you could try different combo's hook it up & see what they look like till you decide on a look that you cant live without.. Post picture s of what you do.. even the combos. take lots of pictures & let's see em.....

Well since I got my LEDS and my solder gun... I was thinking of doing this now.. OR should I wait and buy a gaugeplate from the myspace guy for $50.00? I dont think the blue LEDS will penetrate the amber gauge faceplate that well in the day right?

IMHO........I say go for it!!! & you be the judge...
AFA the gauge face,,, you could order one from him, have him MAKE you a custom one as I did, or you could make your own!! If you have PHOTOSHOP skills, there is a thread with a template alreay on it.. You just add your pics.. re-size, change colors, etc, & print it up on regular photopaper...... lemme know if you need the thread for that.. I want to do that but lack the PS skills. & I dont have anyone close to STL for a 'sit down' session with me to make mine.......... good luck..... jh
