Does anyone know if i can put a subwoofer on an 08 XB stock system..

 

ya you go to pep boys or whever and you buy this thing that you hook up to your speaker wires so you can plug RCA cables into then you just buy a switch for your remote wire to turn your amp on and off

 

just get a line out converter, and hook the amps remote wire to the wire off the headunit that gets power when the key is turned on. you don't need a switch, unless you want to be able to turn you amp on and off independantly of your head unit..
dunno why you would want that though, because you can just turn your head unit down, or off, or switch it to the "voice or hear" ssp mode. if you wanted to, you could install a switch to cut the amp power, but you would be leaving it on all the time.. it's a waste of a switch in my opinion, but you may have different power needs. it's easy to hook up a switch in line with your remote wire if you want to do that. the remote wire on the amp is essentially a switch, which only turns on and off the amp when the ignition is turned to on or acc.. that way you don't kill your battery when you shut off the car, even though power and ground are connected to the amp all the time.

Yes, I did. Just get an amp with speaker lvl inputs or a line-out converter and tap into your rear speaker wires to feed the amp. The LOC converts speaker lvl to pre-amp lvl and uses RCA cables to feed the amp. After you set the amp gain for additional bass control you can use the fader. Everything else is the same as any other amp/sub install. The gray wire is best for amp turn-on.
