Default Phone mount left of steering wheel

I thought you guys might want to see what I did to mount my phone in my xB. I had a phone mount from two previous cars, and I had just attached to the A/C. However, that is lame, so I wanted to do something with the drivers side storage cubby. I went to home depot and bought a small piece of lexan plexiglass, some bolts, and some double sided tape. I cut the plexiglass down(also sideways to avoid the A/C) and drilled some holes to screw in the mount. Cost me all of 10 bucks to make, and probably could have saved a little if I already had some bolts and tape. The lexan was 3.75, tape was 5, and the bolts were about a buck. Yesterday I ran a USB cable over from the passenger side where I have a 12v->USB adapter, which is coming out of the A/C vent. Tested it using GPS on the way back from dinner, and it couldn't be placed any better!

That's a pretty neat idea, props to you for that! So the plexiglass is just attatched to the wall of the cubby? And how hard was it to feed the cable through the climate control piping?

I use that little space for my wallet, I don't like sitting on my wallet, and I use that cellphone/MP3/coin holder thing that came with the car for my phone. That's my set up.

Actually the cable is coming up from the passenger side, then behind the radio, and up behind the trim piece around the gauges and left to the A/C vent. Theres a little opening at the A/C output that the cable can feed through. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow if I can get in there. I had a friend help just to have a second set of hands to grab the cable.
