Default siriusconnect premium stereo upgrade

Ok, so my wife drives an 08' Xb, and she opted for the factory premium pioneer stereo upgrade with the sirius kit. I'm looking at the sirius box underneath the seat, and it has no model number, just a generic box with siriusconnect at the top. She's looking to upgrade to an aftermarket pioneer stereo that includes bluetooth so she can wirelessly stream audio from her iphone

My questions are:
1. since it's the same brand stereo, can I assume that everything will hook up the same way, or am I looking at having to buy a new sirius reciever box?
2. How do I know if the steering control will work with the stereo? Looking at this:

every car has a different harness. you'll probably need a wiring harness to adapt those wires on it. it's like $10. as for the steering wheel controls, i'm sure there's a different adapter that you can find to make it work. but those are like $70

the plugs are not going to be the same.. while they are both "Pioneer" radios.. the stock radio has toyota plugs on it.. pioneers specific plug is different, so you may need to get a different sirius connect tuner box and call them to change the subscription

steering wheel controls also are different.. PAC SWI-PS is the part you'll need

to add my two cents;

I work at best buy so i know a bit about the AVH3100 u posted about. Since she is looking for bluetooth and even a deck that does bluetooth audio (A2DP), this specific stereo will not come built in with it. You would need the pioneer bluetooth CD-BTB200.

The good thing about this specific BT unit, it does support Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for bluetooth audio (iphone 3.0 now supports as well).

Secondly satellite radio. Pioneer is picky about this for sirius. With XM you only need 1 part (the tuner / interface) all built into one nice box. Sadly sirius isnt the same. To get Sat Radio built into this specific stereo you'd be looking at the following two parts:

http://www.crutchfield.com/s_607SCC1...&ssi=0&tp=6953

http://www.crutchfield.com/s_130CDSB...&ssi=0&tp=6953

Steering wheel controls, Slody4Futbol is right, the PAC SWI-PS will work with the wired remote input on the back of this pioneer in-dash.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I hope i got everything right.

Sheesh.. I had a feeling I was in for a treat. Thanks for the advice , looks like I'm looking to spend double in accessories just to get a different stereo to work

I'm veering from pioneer, I find it ridiculous I have to buy so many accessories to get a stereo to work. I think I'm going to go with clarion:
http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-VX409-...7821831&sr=8-1

Only needs a $75 bluetooth adapter (half the cost of pioneer):
http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-VX409-...7821831&sr=8-1

Only needs one inexpensive sirius box (no special seperate pioneer adapter)
http://www.amazon.com/SIRIUS-SCC1-Co...d_bxgy_e_img_c

And the stereo comes OEM steering wheel ready, so I don't need to buy that either.. So I'm looking at:
$330
$75
$50
-----
$455
