sound system upgrade
So the plan is to do the upgrade in different parts. First are the speakers (Infinity Kappa 60.9cs) and those have been order. Probably going to install them next week.
Future Plans:
Clarion NX702 (it seem pretty good. it haven't come out yet)
JL XD600/6 amp (make it easier with just one amp, is there a better 6ch amp out there? probably going to install it under the back seat)
JL 8W1v2-4 subs (one under each front seats)
Running monster cables to connect everything.
Questions:
Would the amp be powerful enough to power the 2 component speakers and the subs?
Any other things that I am missing?

I used these spider holders to fit my tweeters in the factory location. You may remove the factory grills over the stock tweeters by snapping them out!!
Also you may even have the same room as mine...the last pics shows my speakers with bracket and grill with enough room for the door panel to snap back in place. This makes for a protective tight sound.

1. Of course there are better 6 channel amps out there. The Zed Leviathan for example is 6 channels and pushes 150x6 watts RMS @4 ohms and is way more flexible. The XD600/6 is a nice small package though. I think you could mount it under the front seat. My Zed had to be mounted on an MDF board in place of the spare tire.
2. You could bridge 4 out of 6 channels to each sub and run the remaining 2 channels to your front components. I think 100 watts RMS @ 2ohms to the infinity components (which IIRC are 2 ohm components) will be plenty loud. They are pretty darn sensitive too so you should get good volume.
3. In my setup, I had to disconnect my rear speakers to get a decent soundstage and avoid phase issues with the rear speakers. YMMV, but I just couldn't get around it without going to a more complicated processing setup. Also, you may not get good results with underseat subs. In my experience, you miss out on alot of cabin gain placing subs there. Not ideal if you want to go stealth, but you'll get the most output placing them where they normally go, in the rear.

I just want to keep the back open for more cargo space. in bmw 1 series they have their subs under the front seat. so i am planning to put one on each side of the seat.
Hopefully, I'll get started on my system soon enough, I've gone through all the phases and basically want to go back to what's perfect to me. I'll be using my alpine 4ch to run the whole car. just still unsure about the headunit.
