Default i dig it

its like when your favorite band comes out with something new and everyone hates it because it's not like the old stuff. But if they cranked out the same stuff all the time people would complain that it's tired and old.

If people want smaller, slower and boxier then go buy a copycat Cube.

idk but with playing the GT series on Playstation sense its been out. i'm pretty sure all Japan auto makers on that game had some form of a box on wheels. and anyway me personally i dont hate xb2 or the xb1 its just the pictures of the 2011 one look a little weird. bcuz i feel the fender flares need some tweaking to make the front and rear bumpers work just my .02 cents.

Don't know, don't care, don't really follow the JDM side of the market. What I know is that the first box-type designs to test the US market were Xb's and Elements. The only ones that pay attention to the JDM releases are enthusiasts, average consumers perceive the Cube and the Soul as copycats. And now that the US market is flooded with smaller, odd looking boxes it makes sense to redesign.

And yet you're talking hot air about stuff you know nothing about.

Wrong, oh so wrong. Companies have had "box-type" for a long long time. Boxy vehicles were huge in the 70's, 80's, etc.

See what I did there?

Box like vehicles, mainly Suzukis, are very popular in China. Many odd looking square vans sell very well too.
Most people aren't worried about curvaceous cars.

Ford had the original Box. The T in model T stands for touring, and since this is a 2-door, that makes it first tC too .

Default T in Model T

So we cannot be called "Boxy One" anymore! Thanks for sharing the picture.

A few comments about this:

I like the interior changes for sure. The front end looks odd having the bumper up so much higher. Granted this allows more airflow to the radiator or an intercooler if you put one in, but it still looks awkward to have it so high up.

The tailights remind me of the xD's a whole lot and it wouldn't surprise me if Scion decided to recycle them into a new model because the xD is the least sold model ( I believe, dont quote me on it) and they probably have extras all over the place.

The dual reflectors (maybe additional brake lights??) do in fact remind me of a Corolla (as someone else stated) and honestly, makes it look 'busy'.

I cannot say I am a fan of the majority of the changes, though some were sorely needed and I am glad they were added (new gauges, telescoping steering wheel, etc).

With this model being dubbed an 'SUV' by most of the non-scion owners, an upgraded suspension would have also helped a bit. I know you can get TRD options on the website, but still having something more SUV-like would have been a bonus.

I'll have to see this in person to make a final decision, but the initial reaction is a no go. Maybe the two new colors will make the new features stand out more. We'll have to see.

I was the one who commented on the reflectors. It makes it look cheap.

Now if Scion actually did a design where they were rectangular or boxy-looking, I'd like it better. It literally looks like they cut off a part of the Corolla and pasted it right there. It's the same look, the same recession, everything. Looks like a Corolla.

If they fixed that one part, I'm all over that box. I love the redesign a lot!

Why would you put rectangles and boxy pieces on vehicle that has no boxiness? The xB2 and xB2.2 are smooth and sleek-ish vehicles. Adding boxed items is like putting lipstick on a rock. it makes no sense.
