Default 2013 Replacement key?

Has anyone else had any issues getting a replacement key? This is the only key I received last week when I purchased my XB used. My local Toyota dealer said they couldn't make me a key, and to go to a Lexus dealer. None of my local hardware stores can make me a copy. Im just looking to get an extra basic chipped key, no keyless entry.

Your dealer should be able to order you a new one. Im sure it will be pricey tho!

ive got a 2014 xb, and my key looks nothing like that. your key is a switchblade? i tried to find a conversion and couldnt. they redesigned the layout from previous years. you can try ebay or the dealer, but the dealer will be super pricey.

yeah its switchblade type. Even my local dealer looked at me funny when I said it was for an XB. I think all the 2013 Scion 10 series came with them. Had I known it only had 1 key, I would have told my dealer to make another before the deal was done. Hate stealerships, but may have no choice.

just saw it was a series 10 exclusive. if you push the dealer they might give it to you. i previously had a murano, and it took two months or so, but the dealer caved and gave me the 400 dollar smart key. cars should come with two keys, especially when they cost as much as they do for a replacement. good luck.
