2013 xB Series 10 Key Barrel retrofit..
Hey there, if anybody here owns a USDM 2013 xB Series 10 (with the bluish-silver paint and the illuminated Scion logo in the dash) I need a clear photo of your ignition barrel without a key inserted
REASON: I own a 2013 xB non-Series 10, and like the switchblade laser cut key that the Series 10 uses, and want to retrofit the car to make it work. What I've determined so far is that it seems to be
the key and ignition lock from a 3rd Gen tC (also if you own a USDM tC, post a pic of your ignition with no key, pls :D)
As it stands right now, my xB does not have an immobilizer. But it appears that the Series 10 might have had one (I see part numbers listed for a transponder ring,
and an amplifier, things that the standard xB doesn't have) I want to see if i can find part numbers so I can start assembling the various parts needed for this new project.
I know the Canadian market xB's have immobilizers, so that may be what I'm seeing.
SO FAR: it seems that I need a new keyless entry receiver, new ignition cylinder, new door lock cylinder, and new keys (obvs.) I found what looks to be a set that includes an
ignition cylinder, a door lock cylinder, and 2 matching keys. The part number for that is 89704-12D40. What i am not sure on yet is if I need to replace the keyless entry receiver.
and yes, i realize this is a ____load of effort for a switchblade key. I am insane.
Any help is greatly appreciated

why not just go this route?
Flip Key Case Upgrade Shell For Toyota 4Runner Matrix RAV4 Vemza Yaris Scion xB | eBay
I did this when I had my 2010, and it worked perfectly. took the key to get cut, and swapped the guts over from my key fob to the new shell. boom, instant switchblade key.
