after lowering your xb2?
anyone get a rattling sound kinda like something isnt tight enough. i checked everything but still makes rattles, but it only comes from driver side sounds like around the strut area any ideas?
Did you replace the front shock absorber nuts with NEW ONES when you put on the new springs? This nut has nylon (I think) threads on the inside that are only designed to be torqued down once. If you didn't replace these, one may have come loose and backed off.
I am assuming you just installed lowering springs. Are you sure the strut is properly assembled? If a keyway is used at the strut bushing (and often there is ...the 1st gen xB has one I am not sure about your 2nd gen) and it is not aligned properly a rattle will result (I, unfortunately, speak from experience...and it isn't hard to get this item out of alignment while reinstalling the strut bushing either). If you are not totally sure the the struts are 100% properly assembled and torqued, then I reccommend pulling them apart again to verify.
Another thing to look for is whether the springs are seated in the pockets on the struts. Ideally the cut end of the spring should be in the lowspot of the spring cups both top and bottom (I realize that sometimes with aftermarket springs this is not possible). A noise can be made by the spring flexing into the end of the spring pocket) If factory like spring alignment is not possible try burying one end or the other in its pocket (either position might or might not be noisy). I generally do the lower pocket if I can only get 1, and really haven't had any noise issues.

does it sound like its coming from the front or back? mine has a noise coming from the rear after dropping it with trd springs. everything is factory torque spec tight and correctly installed. my noise is coming from the accessories (jack/lug wrench/other crap) that is under the rear deck due to the tighter springs and 40 series tires.
whitebreadbox, did you check the lower shock bolts?
A lot of us, myself included have developed a rattle at the rear after install of the springs (and in some cases the rear sway bar). Mine sounded just like a broken shock.
Recheck the torque on the lower shock bolts by holding the nut and turning the bolt. Not right by anything I have ever seen, but mine turned about 3/4 of a turn ( as near as I can remember) and I have not heard a sound since. I could not budge the nut using the same tools by the way.
Worth checking anyway.
