Backup sensor problem.

Backup sensor problem.
Hello everybody,
I purchased a new 2012 Scion xB in April and I chose to have the backup sensor installed by the dealership (it used to be an option for the 2012 Scion). They did, but a few months later I noticed that sometimes the system was not engaging when the car was in reverse, and when it did, it made three beeps.
I took the car to the dealership and they claimed that there was a short (apparently three beeps = bad) and replaced the whole backup sensor’s “brain”. Now, when in reverse, it produces two beeps (one short, one long), but it is still not activating reliably. The dealership was supposed to call Toyota for instructions, but they are avoiding talking to me and are not returning my calls.
Is there anybody that has an idea on what I should do next? Is there a point in contacting the Toyota Customer Care?
Also, I am not 100% sure if the backup system they installed was the OEM or some other brand (it has only 2 sensors). Is there anybody else who purchased that option and can help?
Thank you,
Wardrumm

We recommend contacting Scion Customer Experience at 866-707-2466 (Monday through Friday 5 AM - 6 PM PST, SAT 7-4) to document and discuss this concern further. We can certainly make the dealer aware and do all we can to help you out. -Albert
