Recently noticed my 11,000mi 2008 xB2 has started displaying a cold start misbehavior. When I start it cold, the idle lifts as normal, but shortly after drops considerably and then recovers. I'm thinking it may be associated with the charcoal evaporation tank purge, but don't know. Warm start is completely normal, it's just cold start strangeness that was never there before (car hasn't been touched, only driven).

I'm thinking of disconnecting the Evap solenoid near the MAF connector and see if it makes a difference (outside of the expected ODB II complaint, that is). Anybody else run into this?

No repeat over two days worth of cold starts. My imagination or just "stuff happens"? Still, if it doesn't recur, guess I shouldn't complain !
