Default Disappointed...need some emotional support

2012 xB here.

Over the last so many months, I have had comments from many friends/co-workers saying that why didn't I buy a real car. :? and that my car is not a car. They refuse to call it a car! They say it's joke, it's a toy. They ask me 'what the fu*k is this'. They dont seem to see the 'attraction' I see in this car. But I can understand where they are coming from. My brain is getting pushed towards getting a 'real car' because I have started to feel how people around me think of my car. I feel guilty driving this car.

Help ur scion brother out...save me before I jump ship!

I really dont get it. People have always liked our "box". Some were skeptics, several actually, until they took road trips with us and realized how much room and how comfy the back is. I have rims, tint, billet grills, an AEM CAI, Borla exhaust and a Unichip. Box is pretty fun to drive too ;)

For the money I spent on the box, the options it has, the mileage it gets and how fun it looks, I say fugg em.

I dont have so many mods but my xB is in pretty 'good shape'. It's lowered on TRD springs, tinted, rear spoiler, and alloy wheels (only 16" though). One guy even said he wouldn't be caught dead driving this thing.

Sounds like haters to me. I havent run into anyone that disliked my car, two couples we know actually are considering buying them.

I love it, great price, plenty of options, drives good, rides pretty good, looks good with mods and cheap to maintain. Also has plenty of power when you need it. I would not worry about other peoples opinion, its your car.

Even my father in law was a skeptic for awhile, till we took him to Orlando (9 hours) in it, he likes it and he's an old redneck truck guy. We are actually loading up in the box Thu and heading to Bristol for 3 days to see the races. Haters gonna hate.

1) there will always be haters. you could get a mercedes and people will ask why didnt you get a porsche? you get the porsche and people will ask why you didnt get a ferrari? etc etc.

2) it's a cheap car, reliable as all hell, roomy and is not a generic/tired/uninspired car. ask them what they paid for their cars and laugh at them when they say north of $30k or whatever.

another thing - the haters are a reason i keep the car actually (not the only reason obviously lol). if my preference is that important to them and apparently is their business then im going to fuel the fire haha. let them waste time hating the car when you are out and about loving everything about it. this is my mentality.

people hate that i have the xb and can't believe i went from a $70k mercedes to this thing. that irks them and i let it! the xb is a far better car and i tell everyone the 1,000 reasons why. i've had several luxury cars in the past but the xb1 made me realize that you dont have to spend crazy cash to have something you love.

if you're happy with it, that's what matters. if it gets under their skin, let it.

You are right about uninspired cars. There are so any out there, just sheep driving around. I also love the fact I can lay the back seats down and cram TONS of stuff back there. It's been a great car. I'll have it paid off soon, over 65k miles, and dont regret one second.

Here are some shots of my toy:

Bone stock, even didnt get the spoiler (added myself later)

Magnet bra and Halo's

Put some black led tails on the back, looks a lot better than the OEM's. Grills have been on there 4 years now, getting due for replacement.

1. What is a real car?
2. You have not been biten by the mod bug.
3. Haters will hate all day.

i had always been sceptical about the XB model. back in 2004 i attended the LA auto show and seen the 1st gen xb and did i have so many negative things to say until a year after when my sports car broke down and there i went straight to a scion dealership and purchased a 06 BOP Xb 5 speed. 7 years later i have owned 1-1st gen and 2-2nd gen Xb's.

Dude just ignore them cause there has to be something bugging them about your car. Here at my job i convinced my coworker to sell his civic and get a Xb and sure enough he purchased a RS8 xb and has not looked back. Please yourself, not others cause at the end of the day its your car.

So true! I traded in a 40K fully loaded Armada for my o8 XB. The one and only thing I miss is some of that extra room on road trips. Other than that the XB is so much more fun and cost effective to drive. As long as you are happy who gives a $hit what anyone else thinks.

people are always S*** talkers, I had a guy say ohh nice fake intercooler before was retarded. I have moved a buddy like 3 times, road trips to vegas and yosemite, daily driven, and i do auto detailing with it. I love my xb2. Playing with people that don't know Im putting 300 hp to the wheels is fun to ^_^.
Just customize and enjoy your imaginary car, don't give in to s*** talker do what you want.

Default 2 xB2 or not xB2?

I know when I first saw the xB1 back in 2005 I thought it was a joke..until I asked to take one out for a spin and I was hooked right away. These last 8 years are by far the longest I've ever owned a car without replacing it.

If you're truly getting what you expect out of your xB2 then that's all that really matters. Yes, I understand people buy cars for status but what car could you really afford right now and would it really be worth it?

Actually, I think the xB2 gives people a lot of status, whenever I see one on the road I always check out the color, the rims, the mods whathaveyou. See, I'm hooked! I'm hooked!!

They're mad cuz they have baby penises and try to compensate by getting a "Real" car. Seriously! They wanna jab at you and that's the best they got? To smack talk your car? Pretty lame. Do what I do. When they throw stones at you, throw back a boulder.

yes I'm still here...sorry for late reply. Thanks for giving me a boost guys! The best reply was 'get new friends and co-workers'...lol

You know what some of them also do? They have trucks/SUVs and sometimes as a joke they come in my way pretending they gonna run my car over because they think it's a dinky toy! I'm gonna get them charged with auto harassment...lol

Here is what they make fun of...
