Does an xB-2014 need a valve adjustment at some time ?
My wife has an 2014 xB, purchased new, Recently, on a long road trip, I heard valves clicking while sitting in the passenger seat. When I was driving I noticed, clicking sounds increased when I push the accelerator to speed up. During the same trip, I also noticed, every time we stop for refreshments and/or gas or stay at a hotel, when the car ignition is turned on, I smell unburnt gas for the first mile or two of driving.
DO I need a valve adjustment or what can fix this ailment? Thanks

Older post, but I'd also think it sounds like noisy leaking fuel injectors. Hope that the OP got it fixed.
The XB2 engine, the 2AZ-FE does not have hydraulic valve actuators. IF I am remembering correctly, they spec a valve lash check at something like 100k or 105k miles. Worse type there is, valve lash adjustment by bucket replacements. No shims.
My XD has hydraulic actuators; I wish that the XB2 did as well.
