Engine info
Depends on how much boost you are wanting to run. The stock internals will easily handle 5-6 psi no issue. Probably a couple pounds more even. If you are wanting to go much higher then, yes, you want to change out the pistons and rods at the least probably the bearings also.
Assuming it's a manual..
The stock internals are good for 450WHP all day long..
Anything higher than that, and you should have it sleeved..
If you have the block sleeved, you can get 625WHP with the rest of the internals stock, after about the 675WHP mark, you will start to melt things, so the ceiling is really 450WHP on stock internals..
(if you want to reliably drive it)
My friend and i built his XB2 with a fully blueprinted block, and forged internals, got to the 728WHP mark before we blew the stock Manual transmission.
Which begs to ask what these people are doing to there stock manual transmissions on this forum to be having issues?
Anyway..
If it is an automatic, Buddy and I blew up a 08XB2 automatic at 220WHP, before swapping in a 5speed.
