So I'm ready to fall in love, or at least very strong like, with the new xB. Just waiting to hear if it's arrived in CT so we can actually drive it. I know, I know, it's not the sweet little toaster of yore, but it looks like a fine car and with two kiddos to worry about I'm into the whole side-air-bag thing....

...but I have to confess that that single back-up light is bugging the %^$# out of me!

Will it be possible to mod it so there are two? Or are we forever doomed to a one-eyed rear view?

I'm not just being a symmetry freak (hey, asymmetry is the secret of true beauty). The thing is, we live *and park* on a one-way street, and we're on the left side of the street, ergo, any time we're reversing into our parking spot, nobody behind will actually know that's what we're doing.

And, come to think of it, any time you begin reversing out of a parking space and there's someone approaching from your right, they'll be similarly befuddled. So, not to nitpick or anything, but WHAT were they thinking?? Can anyone explain?? Can I get over this and just buy the car for what it has, not what it's missing?? Help me, Scionlifers!

 

yeah, I don't get the logic....I AM a symmetry freak and as you mention just plain common sense says two lights would be better not to mention look a whole lot better.

 

I am hoping for some body kits that replace the rear bumper and have a spot for two reverse lights as well. It wouldn't be too hard to add, just go buy another reverse light assembly from the dealership and split the wires.

 

I don't really mind the one light, but why only on the left side? If it were up to me, I'd make it like, in the center, and maybe a bit more convexed so it can be seen better by other drivers who're passing by in a parking lot.

 

Has anyone that owns the Xb2 had a problem backing up at night? Maybe Scion was trying to be different, isn't that whats Scion is all about? What about that horrible single exhaust on the right side! Si se lo meten gritan y si se lo sacan lloran.

 

At night the reverse light is very bright. I think my husband mentioned that it looks like they used a fog light for the reverse light. During the daytime, I am not sure, havent really been behind it

 

i like the rear bumper on the t2b if you could get that setup that would be tight with the reverse light on one side and exhaust on the other.

 

You bought an Xb and you want NORMAL???

I guess they put one there because they *think it'll light up the entire back side of the car, regardless if you are parallel parking on the left or the right.

I am **** as hell and i am a symetry freak. that one eye'd ***** look does ____ me off a bit. i can see the next mod being bondo'ing over it and painting it the color of the box. that way it doesnt' make the back bumper look like Lela from futurama.
