Take a look at this thread over at PriusChat. I read there a lot because of my wife's car.http://priuschat.com/index.php?showt...&hl=SilverStar
Be sure to read all the way through.

Seriously look at the 6000k or 4300k Mobile HID kits if you want white brighter/ better lighting.

The stock low beam is bright already. Put anything brighter it will be hard on the etes of passing traffic.

Had SilverStars in my Rav4 for 4years....Never had a problem.......They give about 20% more light......Heard they may burn-out faster...

With a proper projector housing, like the xB has, and a rather marked cutoff, why not go to HID's? The lumens output from halogen to HID isn't even a fair fight (proper HID 4100-6000K at most, 4100-4300 is your best bet for visible light). Drive a car with HID's, you'll feel blind when going to halogens. I do agree with you on cars that have regular housings, the scatter and glare pattern is bad, add HID and it's worse; those are, in my opinion, also a safety issue for oncoming drivers.

i upgraded to HID's. (MobileHID.com or PM Cliffud)

The bulb numbers are 4 digits, not 5. Lowbeam headlights for the '08 xB are 9005 or H11.

i have all the bulb numbers for the '08 xB so if you need to know, PM me and i will be more than happy to help out.

Hey xhrhx15x, I just upgraded to HID's myself. Did you find it to be a problem to get the bulbs to fit? I did. The base of the bulb was a hair bigger then the hole in the housing. I had to use a dremmel tool to make the hole a little bigger. I dealt with this same problem on my last car. I bought aftermarket projectors for it and found that the hole was a tiny bit too small for the bulb. But my XB looks so much better with the HID set up

You're gonna put HID's in your brights? Wow. Tonight (July 4th) was the first night I drove around with my HID's on. I got a few people flashing me cuz I guess I am shining pretty bright. Putting HID's in your brights, you're really gonna blind people. I wanna get some fogs but I guess I'll go with some aftermarkets. I'll probably add HID's on those

HID's on the high beam? Correct me if I'm wrong but don't HID's need some time to "warm up"? Being that high's are usually used to flash is that a good application? I believe that would also be quite blinding to on comers no?

Oops. i just read what i wrote. I didn't mean that I was gonna upgrade the high beams to HID. I'm prolly gonna get some silverstars for the fogs and the high beams.
