Is there a better alternative to led? Is there a brighter bulb we can put inside?

These led bulbs they are talking about are the cheap 15 buck ebay bulbs that look cool but are not as bright. However there are bright leds out there you just have to pay to get them.

Those leds are way brighter but again you gotta pay up to be different and look cool.

Is this the only option? All the brighter leds for the tail lights are that expensive?
