Default A new addition to the family.

After far too many repairs and headaches, my girlfriend is finally getting rid of her Beetle.

We're picking it up this evening. It's in excellent shape and has 40k on the clock.

First project is installing the headunit/bluetooth that was in the VW.
I just have to figure out where to mount the microphone. I have it on the A-pillar on my 06, but with the curtain airbags, I don't really want to mess with the pillars.

It was a 2000, but only had 60k on it...
Unfortunately, the electrical system was crapping out and some of the engine components were going bad.
Almost 2k has gone into it in the last year.

The wiring for the seat airbags shorted out every time you moved the seat to access the back seat, the airbag sensors have been dying and are $300 each time. The starter motor, turbo cutoff and head gasket were all replaced in September.

The car only went three weeks without a warning light.
The driver's side airbag sensor went bad a couple weeks ago.

It's the bane of my existence and they're such a pain to work on.
Can't wait to have another owner friendly vehicle.

I saw that pic when I was scanning the bluetooth thread. I might try that spot.

It works great there, I have never had an issue with anyone hearing me.

That's where I install them on customer's vehicles as well.
