people dont want to say "Yeah it was actually just a bit of plastic rubbing and we were crying wolf"

My problem is gone after installing my car alarm. They had to remove the dash to do some of the routing of wires and its fine now. I can assure you that welding is not part of the solution.

Take it to the dealer and have it fixed. There is a TSB out for this problem. I just got my box back and the fix worked.

It involves removal of the front left quarter panel and front bumper and placement of three welds. My dealer had it done at their body shop, and it did take several days, but the noise is gone.

Do you have a TSB number yet?

I noticed this and searched this forum and see everyone else has this too! It creaks on the driver's A piller lower when accelerating or turning more sharp. ____ poor Quality Control. Enginnering needs to resolve this and provide us with a fix. This car is not even a half year old!

(sorry no pics, they fixed it all up before I got there) They got a fix from Scion California (HQ???) and it involves a "punch" so instead of the metal rubbing it's held together by the bumped metal. Apologies for incorrect terminology, this is how I remembered the explanation! I have their worksheet somewhere in the car, I could dig it out if people want more details.
So it was not dangerous, not a weld failure but in the process of this fix, they loosened something else maybe a wire in the dash and now that rattles with every bump! Also the fender clips were not replaced properly. If anyone else gets this done, make sure you check the car out thoroughly after the fix.

Good luck!
Could you get the details on what they did?

The left side of the car is the side that would be on your left if you were INSIDE the car, facing forward.

Some are saying it involves a "punch" and others say "welds". Since these are not the same thing does this mean there are two different repair methods being used?

It seems like the dash is rubbing on the A-pillar plastic on the passenger side.
