plastic on back doors supposed to be there?
just a quick question for you xb2 owners,
i have these small plastic overlays on the rear doors of my xb2. they're on the bottom corners on the outside nearest the wheels. there's also a small strip of same type of plastic on the rear fenders. anyone know what these are for? are they supposed to be there or can i remove them? I'm guessing they're supposed to be removed but would like some verification before i do anything.

They are there to protect the paint from dirt, rocks and other crud that gets kicked up from the front tires, since the bodywork in that area flares out a little bit. You can take them off if you want to, but the paint on our xB's is really thin to begin with, and very susceptible to chipping and damage. If you don't have a show car that you enter into competitions, I'd leave it on.
I've been asked before by the Super Mods, but I declined because I come on here for fun, and sometimes I push the limits myself. As Clint Eastwood once said, "a man's got to know his limitations" and I certainly do. I also only watch and participate in certain forums, while mods are expected to be more general in their viewing and policing. Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I prefer to just be a helper.
