Default Reintroduction

Hi all,

I joined this forum back in 2004 when my ex bought an Xb shortly after they were introduced. Skip ahead 11 years (), my 2005 prius died at 140k miles. So, I test drove a 2013 Xb that was on the dealer's lot on 06 Jun 2015 and drove it home that day. The only thing I've done so far is a full set of Weather Tech mats and 8000k HIDs. I hope to have some fun with this car.

Here it is as it sits today:

I'd like to drop it, but I live in the great northeast. What, if any, are the effects of a slightly lowered car on winter driving? Potholes also concern me.

I'd also like to add a class 2 hitch to tow a [very] small boat (a 12ft Sun Dolphin Pro 120). Would lowering springs hamper my ability to tow?

S techs would probably be too low for you, but they handle potholes great. I haven't had the chance to drive it in the snow, but my integra was even lower and handled snow great.

If you are going to lower it and tow I would recommend getting a set of Air Lift helper bags.

https://www.airliftcompany.com/shop/60823/

These are great for helping with occasional heavy loads on the rear of the car. I used them for years on my Honda Odyssey.

I had a busy day with my Xb yesterday. I put on factory mudguards, the Prius wiper switch, new horn, removed that silly snorkel from the air box, installed my basslink, and dynamatted the whole hatch area.
