Revised MPG for XB2 on scion.com ?!
The MPG ratings for the XB2 have changed on the Scion site... Could be a mistake but still...
Now rated at 30/33 manual and 30/34 auto...
Look it up at http://www.scion.com/#xBSpecs_mileageEstimates
I'm attempting to put a screen grab here:
Enjoy...

I just got back from cleveland about a 150 mile trip. I have less than 800 miles, not even broke in and i got low 30's. about 32-33 or so. once in heavy stop and go traffic it went to the mid 20's. If you have a heavy foot, it goes down fast!!!!!
ps is the xb drive by wire anyone know

It's probably just a screw up.
However, I will say that my new xB got just under 30mpg (according to the dash instrument) with mostly in-town driving and very few highway miles. And I have a lead foot ... I've only been passed ONCE in the last two weeks starting from a stoplight.
Still, 30/34 is "probably" an error on the Scion website.

yeah that is def a typo, i drive pretty much 50/50 highway and city and average around 27/28. Even on highway i still get just under 30.
Maybe its because the rpms at 80 are 3400
are they supposed to be that high??

Not sure if the Pontiac guy was refering to MY question as a whine, or not. Its not.
Rather it is a request for information as I attempt to decide to stick with my current xb or trade up to the 08.
Fuel is a direct, and somewhat controllable, cost of doing business for me.
For the most part I can stay off the highway, and have little or no city driving, so usually top the epa numbers for the xB. I'm thinking, with my drive style, I may be able to do the same with the 08. Too, I was hoping the highway miles would have less of a negative impact on the larger engine. However, if it also turns those high rpms (how about at 70-77mph?) I may not want to trade off the mileage for the better, quieter ride!

I just got back form a 1500 mile trip to Oregon. Set the cruise at 78mph almost the whole way and averaged about 26mpg. Now have 2700 miles on it and hope I get close to 30mpg, that would be a dream... I somehow doubt that though. Even on a very flat stretch I only got 28mpg

Just did an odometer test on my '08 xB and it runs about 2.2% slow.
Factoring that in, I'm now over 2200 miles on the car and that's about 60% freeway. I figure the engine is just about broken in. I'm getting an overall MPG of _just_ under 26. (25.956)
The last round trip between Portland and Seattle got me 29MPG. (It might be a little higher as I filled the tank myself, and I tend to put more in than the guys pumping gas here in Oregon. The trip computer was reading 30.2 overall average.)
The _worst_ tank I've had so far, which was almost entirely short in-town trips, was almost exactly 22MPG. (21.971)
It looks like the published estimates are very good.
For reference, my cumulative MPG in my '06 xB was 28.5. So, less than a 3 MPG loss between the two cars.
