Default scion accelating slower than usual, engine noiser, any tips?

i just recently purchased a 08 scion Xb, a few weeks ago, so far i have put about 650 miles on it

but a few days ago i recently noticed that the engine is louder, and when its idle it seems to vibrate a little more and it dosnt accelerate as fast as when i first got it, and the breaks are a little slippery

is this part of the breaking in process or should i be worried

i drive on the freeway alot and im stuck in traffic all the time, and on the way back i go about 85mph on the freeway

thanks

There was a similar thread like this one, and the response was that the new xb has the
camry/tC engine, and the problems are rare. I am at 900 miles and the car seems perfect to me.

lol but an inspection wont hurt

Why not just take it in, after all that is what having a WARRANTY is for.

i have experienced this as well and just thought it was a normal break in process. When i first bought the car, it ran so well. Now i'm at about 700 miles and the car seems slower than ever, brake doesn't grab as well, and yes engine is a lot louder. Let me know what answers you get when you take your car in to inspect.. Hopefully its not a problem.

Hey masterbassit i live in irvine too, what a coincidence! Yah its really weird sometimes the car runs really smooth and sometimes the car is a little bit noiser, has crappier acceleration, vibrates slightly, and overall feels like a harsher rider. At first I thought I was crazy but know that you mentioned it, Im not!

Wonder if this is normal.

i am having the same problems. one day crap, one day great. mine started after i installed my aem cai and magnaflow muffler. i started running lucas fuel treatment (not a cleaner). its much better. try getting gas from a different place. i don't care what the inspection sticker says at the pump... they're buying the cheapest gas they can to make a profit. its worked for me so far...

Yeah, either contaminants getting into the fuel - either at the pump or while it's in the car's tank. Faulty fuel filters?

Well I did some research and found out that alot of gas companies JUST meet the standards by the U.S for the quality of gas, and others go beyond that. It's called top tier gasoline. Read about it here, along with the various gas stations/companies on the website.
