Maybe about the parts, cause they might go up in price being that the models will be discontinued. So the parts will not be mass produced as often and it'll be a little harder to get them. But that's a couple of years from happening about the parts.

Maybe had they left well enough alone with the original Xb... But that's hindsight. However, IMHO, they changed the Xb too much with the gen 2.

Just read about this here (Both the thing about the xB taxis and that Scion has no direct replacements for them.)

Was kinda wondering because I'd heard no news about an xB update.

Scion varied from the "one and done" by making a 2nd gen xB (and also a 2nd gen tC), so I don't see that as a valid argument against a 3rd gen xB. I guess we'll never know what a 3rd gen xB would have looked like.

I've noticed fewer new ones around lately, but had no idea it was as low as 17,000 units for 2011.

17,000 yes, but everyone needs to remember that Toyota was pretty much shut down with the earthquake and floods in2011. It wasn't because a lack of sales but a lack of inventory. I have 3 Scions dealers within 15 miles of my house and I think they have a total of 25 cars available.

This makes me sick! All of us that love the xb the xd and most of all scion its self need to send the president and the vice president emails telling them not to do away with the xb and xd, especially the xb and remind them that the xb is the car that made scion the fastest growing and most popular car company in history, and that the reason scions aren't selling is 1 all the models are over priced the base price of an xb in 2008 was around $16,000 now the base price is $17,000 but your lucky to find one for less then $18,000 and the tc in 08 was around $17,000 now the base price is $19,320. 2 they stopped advertising and promoting the idea of being part of a community and being one of a kind and making the car your own and for awhile didn't advertise at all. When they started to advertise again they only made one for the new tc and instead of saying be one of a kind it was a stupid ad with the god Zeus who was full of him self and it didn't focus on the car at all only on the character. we need to remind them that what made the company was the owner only events and the sense of community. we also need to remind them that these are the kind of ads the built the company

and that these are not the kind of ad that made scion.

Sorry for the long post its just that I've loved the xb and scion since I first time I saw one when I was 11 and love it even more after learning about scions make it your own and be one of a kind attitude.
Like I said at the beginning lets try and save the xb and xd and remind them what scion is.

Hate to hear that, as I also love both of my boxes. Often wished they had brought restyled bB here instead of 2nd gen.

Not entirely a surprise, but disappointing non-the less ! Would have been nice to see an xB3 with the new power plant, but I guess it just wasn't in the cards. Ultimately, it makes no difference regarding my own xB2, I expect to own it for the long haul! Just the way I am !

i always preferred the xb1 over the xb2,but had come to appreciate the xb2. meh to most all xa's ive seen save for a few... so coming soon the xe and xf.
And why no convertible? i mean the scion line was always to get the younger crowd into toyota products,a tc convertibe wouldnt have been hard to do

Sad to see these go because the wife and I was waiting to see what the 3rd gen xB was going to look like and get one if we like it but i guess not now. If scion continues this path of cutting cars that means that the tC is the next to go in about 3 years time. I guess the wife and I will have to go get a 1st or 2nd gen xB now and keep both of our tC's.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

I really regret trading my '06 white xb for my '10 mercedes.... I was planning on getting an xB after the lease on the benz ends in jan '13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i have to find another car that's just as awesome.... i've done tons of comparisons and nothing compares to the box in terms of features+price+reliability.... ;((((

really sad day. i thought this was a joke so i googled it and a couple of other news outlets have reported the same... (((((((
