I have a set of Bridgestone REVO1's that I had for my Mazda3. We are approaching 80 inches of snow this winter and the xB has been a blast.

Anyone who says you don't need winter tires has never tried them. They are fairly cheap and mine are on their 3rd winter. The level of security you feel is worth twice the price.

With the REVO1's on the xB on snow covered streets it is very entertaining to drive away from people with SUV's with AWD on "all-season" tires at traffic lights. The only scary part is they eventually get some speed up and I know I can stop in a lot less distance than they can too.

I have driven mine on ice and in snow deep enough that I was plowing it with the front bumper. It has been solid as a rock all winter.

I never even tried the stock tires since I already had my winter tires, but the Mazda3 had the Goodyear RS/A for stock tires too. They were without question the worst tire I have ever had on a car in winter.

I definitely think the Nokians are great tires but you can buy a set of Winterforce tires and they do a good job too for much less money. I bought a set mounted on alloy wheels and shipped to my door for $650. All I had to do was bolt them on the car. When spring hits, all I have to do is change back to my 17's. I've got less than $1500 in two sets of wheels and tires and I sold the ones that came on the xB for $300.

Thx, Bozz
I've bought a few sets of tires from Tire Rack and have been very happy. I ahd a friend who put 4 snows on her M3, and RX8 and never had a problem during these crappy NEOhio winters. I've been trying to convince my wife she doesn't need a SUV with AWD.
