so I called 2 dealers today. :
Lynch Toyota 314-731-0880.

They (service tech) told me it has to be hooked up to the scan computer in their shop & changed with the computer.
This will enable you to have all the doors un-lock with a single push of the button.. Told me that I couldn't do it myself.
Also... a $75 charge for that. I insisted that it's still under warranty & I should get it for free as it was a choice as outlined in the manual page 11.
She said go talk to my sales person & he'll probally get that reduced some for me.. Okk I hang up & call..:

Seeger Toyota 314-434-5000:

Phoned them & talked to another female service supervisor.
She told me to make an appointment to bring it in as....
it has to be hooked up to the scan computer in their shop & changed with the computer.
I asked how much$$ she said the first one is FREE!
She explained that is not my fault that the factory decided on that option & that I had every right to have it changed as an option when picking up the car. She said it's stilll under warranty & it doesnt mattter where I bought it as the warranty is universal..
She repeated, the it will be FREE..first time only!.. After that I will have to pay out of pocket $$ IF I wanted to go back......

Soooo.. call more than one dealer... get THEIR stories & draw upon a most agreed on answer & go to your dealer of choice & "get R done"!!! AT NO CHARGE!! Insist on it.... good luck...

Does this have an alarm or just panic? I cant seem to set off an alarm by locking myself inside and unlocking a door from the inside vs my old xa.

I just got my keys reprogramed so that one push of the unlock unlocks all door.

i also had them turn off the "beeping" when you drive over 14mph with no seat belt on. so if you didnt know you could do that now you do.

there was also a bunch of other stuff you can do like when you leave your keys in the ignition and open then door i guess you can turn off that beeping or change it to beep fast or even slower.

i didnt have time to sit there and check out every thing you can reprogram. maybe next time

Thanks, I am going back to get my fogs installed and have them tweek mines. Seems its just rke, the alarm is extra. If you are 90% of the system, why not include the alarm too to protect such a nice car?

Maybe I missed it, but how does it benefit someone to have the alarm turned off that tells you to wear a seat belt?

dont have the dealers install the fog lights it super easy. id be willing to walk you through it. and theres also the dealer install guide you can download. unless there doin it for free then let them do it.

as for the seat belt thing. i always have heavy items on my front seat. so when i take off the no seat belt get triggered thinking someones in the pass seat. its just annoying. so i had them turn off the beeping. but it was just an example of a few things they can reprogram for you.

Thanks. Ive done that with the xa and had the passenger warning light come on, but no buzzer. I read in the book that if you drive withthe parking brake on a buzzer is going to go off, however I have tried it and no luck. Thats something my dad dd once and burnt up the brakes in a car he had.

The dealer is going to charge me, so no deal there. From what I see, it looks like the xa install. You remove the bumper, but cut out part of the grill? Then put inthe switch? Is it that easy?

Thanks, I can use all the help. Also, I got the standard radio and either I have it on the wrong setting or the stock radio sucks. I had the stock one in my xa and I liked it. This one gives me a head ache like its stuck on mono vs stereo. Ive set the speakers to xb, which made it the loudest, then asl on hgh and fooled with the bass and trebble.

As of the fog lights yeah it's that easy there's even marks on the grill where you need to cut. I'd say do it yourself. I can send you the install guide when I get home.

And for the radio when I had the stock cd player I think it sounded better with asl off. And if I can remember you can change the settings forget how but I had mine on" feel"

i had the dealer program my car so it doesnt have the lock/unlock chirp and also lock/unlock all doors with a single push. i tried to get them to undo the seat belt buzzer but refused to do so because its a safety feature.

the other thing i tried to do is to have the car stop automatically locking the car after you unlock it and dont open the door immediately. they said they cant turn it off and set it to the max at 2 mins before locking.
